Wondering if anyone has seen this video. Its a great piece of one of the greatest song writers in history in action. First off, Faul says he was playing around with a echo effect and came up with the " No More Lonely Nights" melody. I'm thinkin ok theres nothing wrong with that. You would think that the guy could maybe pick up on the sound he was getting from the echo effect and recreate that when he came to George with it. Faul continues with the damn echo effect to the point where it look like George is gonna go mad. I gotta hand it to George, he's smart and well composed even while working with an idiot like Bill. Looks like George takes what little Faul offers and makes a song of it. LoL Now I'm supposed to believe that Bill is the guy who wrote all those hits? He's banging away on three cords that sound like crap and puts together a pop masterpeice from it? He doesn't even know what notes he's hitting half the time. Latter in the show he does one of the worst guitar pieces I've heard. I know the guy can strum pretty good since he played that damn mandalin every chance he got when "Everybody's gonna dance tonight" came out. However, that little number made George look like someone was draggin thier nails across the board. Amazing! www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGKHa2pChr0www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tXU0F1DH-k&feature=related

Interesting; I think it bears further scrutiny. It's doubly interesting in that in shows differing points of view of the action, sort of, I think. George Martin is a solid, steady, professional music director who can pull the best out of a person and the material. NIce hearing the explanations of how some of the extended musical sequences in Broad Street came about. "Classical" orchestra music is the root of it all. Glad to hear so much of it infused in this movie score.

Bill's biggest talent is that he knows how to pick the best collaborators possible. WEll, except that time with Michael Jackson, sorry, I wouldn't wanna bring up any horrible memories. (i'll scratch that last line..... as funny as it was, I reckon it wasn't really necessary )

Faullible, your point of view is so biased, what you wrote sounds so idiotic and mean. Maybe you should take some flute lessons to get a better insight into music and songwriting.

Agreed, Percy.. but we all have our different opinions about Bill his music, really i think he's great. I don't think Bill's music was written by someone else though, what are your opinions about that? -M

Stop your cryin Percy, I don't need flute lessons to figure out that that electric guitar number was garbage. Since you brought up the flute though, I think Bill might be really into Pan, the horned goat god of the forest, who btw battled Apollo for the top musician spot.

I still think your comments are idiotic and based on some deaf tone skills of yours. Thanks for posting the links to the interview tho, that was interesting.

Glad you all enjoyed the video as much as I have, your welcome. Percy, I find your response odd though. Instead of addressing any specifics, you chose to take a rather obtuse angle. Are you telling me the solo was top notch? Are you saying George doesn't look extremely annoyed at all? @ 2:08 of part one when George sets his glasses down and starts clapping out of beat, I can't help but laugh. Percy, if your gonna defend Bill and his great musical talent, you should at least make somewhat of an effort to do so. The topic of Bill not writing his own tunes has been brought up @ NIR by other members also. I'd bet your a very loyal kind of person and thats a very admirable quality. However, most likely you've allowed yourself to get lost in the muzik and you really should consider to whom you gave loyalty to. eh hmmm take the blinders off.

also, in part two when he sings For No One he says, "just a nice song to sing, that one." It doesn't feel like he wrote it. It sounds more like someone singing along with the radio, particularly when he sings the french horn parts. As a songwriter, you would just sing the song. The fact that he sings a part from the production is not completely strange but it's a little strange almost like he studied the production more than he wrote it. I could be wrong, but that's the feeling I get. Couldn't imagine John or George doing that.

Hey Faullible, maybe I don't address any specifics, because reading your posts, it's obvious you don't have a clue about the songwriting process or what you're talking about. I am gonna address one tho, just to show you. Paul is playing the bass riff, with delay on, over and over, because he is using the notes played on the bass to built the rest of the song. Hence why he is showing George which notes, so George can play the chords on the piano and elaborate on them. If you look at Part 2 of the video, you can see Paul showing the rest of the melody on the piano. So don't say George wrote the song on his own. It's a collaboration. Also, nobody claimed McCartney was one of the best guitar player or bass player around (maybe that's why he asked D. Gilmour to play the solo on "no more lonely nights"), but he is an amazing songwriter.
Ok, you can go back to listening Magical Mystery Tour backwards, hoping they're gonna tell you who was the walrus... To quote you... >> "amazing".

Ok, you can go back to listening Magical Mystery Tour backwards, hoping they're gonna tell you who was the walrus... To quote you... >> "amazing". Are you sayin you don't believe in baskmasking? Well, you might as well say paul is live. Some of the all time greatest clues ever was "turn me on dead man" and what about "paul is dead miss him miss him". Just in case you didn't get the memo, the walrus was paul.LoL It is? Last time I checked George wasn't given credit for co-writing it. I said "You would think that the guy could maybe pick up on the sound he was getting from the echo effect and recreate that when he came to George with it."You would think one of the greatest songwriters in history could at least do that. No? So what exactly are you tryin to address? So tell me if I'm wrong but all I'm gettin from you is "blah blah blah, but he is an amazing songwriter" Dear, dear percy, ask yourself, whats the point of your posts? If its to convince me that Bill is who he says he is and does what he says he does then your simply wasting your time. If its out of a strong desire to defend Bill then I'll stop wasting yours because you my friend are beyond help, living a fantasy where nothing is real. Look percy, its true, I'm a huge PID fan and thats the bottom line. Sure, I might be a little critical of Bill and the beatles sometimes but does that make me a bad person? I just wanna be loved just like everyone else. Sometimes I feel like nobody understands or cares. I'm seriously done with this forum I'm never coming back ever again. Nobody loves me. It's been this way all my life. Oh dear, forget everything I said it was Just Unbearable Dumb Emotions.

"living a fantasy where nothing is real." So far, it's you who's living in your PID fantasy. You didn't prove anything and you never will. Why? Because Paul is alive and well. Now go back to listening Magical Mystery Tour backwards, hoping they're gonna tell you who was the walrus...

Whilst you go back to speculating about whether Mills has or hasn't, had a face-lift?, & suggesting that The Beatles wore moustaches to prove that they were "real men"..?? At least Faullible's comments are insightful & entertaining, have you considered a career move as a gossip columnist, Percy?

Oh ok then your posts must be out of a strong desire to defend Bill. That must be your passion, to defend Bill. Well I hope you don't feel the desire to post everytime I'm critical of Bill, because frankly, your comments bore me. However, they do give me the opportunity to elaborate, LoL. You somehow don't even bother to address the issues with anything substantial and when you do actually attempt to make an intelligent comment, it miserably fails to make any point what so ever. So out of lack of anything better to say you haft to go with the MMT baskmask remark. I really don't understand the concept of going on a PID website and criticizing someone for being PID. I don't think I myself would go on a beatle fan site and criticize people for listening to MMT forwards. I would seek physiological help before I would do that, maybe you should consider this concept. Anywaze, thanks for trying, but your unable to tickle my fancy for a good debate.

Sorry bout that Girl, I will try to turn it down a notch. I do enjoy going back and forth with good judgment and intellectual dialog, but it always seems to digress into barbaric insults. I believe percy and myself have come to an understanding and I can't imagine there being anything left to say unless it be out of pettiness. Please shed not another tear Girl, I shall no longer participate in this bickering, for to see you cry saddens me

yes, i am a PIA, but I just commented on your initial post because I thought it wasn't objective at all (sorry, I don't see George Martin being on the edge in the video, for example). About me posting on this board: I do it, because I am always curious about what people are going to come up with. Some things are interesting, some are funny, some are boring. I mostly browse this board when I am bored at work. Sometimes, I don't feel the need to elaborate. People can just watch the videos, read your post and see what's wrong.

sorry, I don't see George Martin being on the edge in the video Thats all you had to say. It's funny how you have difficulty staying on the subject. I personally don't have any qualms about PIAers posting on here. I was encouraging you to take a honest look at the defect in character it would take for someone to criticize PIDers for doing what PIDers do on a PID forum. It's not just about face lifts and fake mustaches, for many its about backmasking and other hidden clues, some even pertaining to Charles Manson. I'm sorry, you've mistaken me for someone who gives a rats ass.
