Jack's "uninspired" typewriter (shown at 02:30 in the video below) is white, and then later blue-grey. It is an Adler typewriter, which is a fitting choice, both because of the meaning of the word 'addle' (to confuse, lose viability, go rotten), and because of psychiatrist Alfred Adler (a peer of Freud and Jung), whose work highlighted power dynamics and the will to obtain power. -j

Interestingly, Alfred Adler was also among the first in psychology to argue in favor of feminism making the case that power dynamics between men and women (and associations with masculinity and femininity) are crucial to understanding human psychology (Connell, 1995). At least it's interesting to me, because we're rapidly approaching the gates to the fifth world, which will be the world of the divine feminine, and I believe that this is one of the (many) things coded into The Shining.

Well, as long as it's Divine, then it shouldn't matter too much if it's Masc. or Fem... You know, you look around and it's more like we're in Jackass/'Jersey Shore' Masculine right now, and if it shifts to 'Jackass/Jersey Shore' Feminine, big whoop, we'd still be living in a nightmare! Queen Snooki or King Situation. Not much of a difference.

Not much of a difference. sky, I believe that the idea of the divine feminine is associated with pure, unadulterated feminine characteristics, as opposed to what masquerades as feminine in today's echo chamber of idiocracy (Jersey Shore, Paris Hilton, etc.) These pure feminine characteristics are: life-giving, nurturing, gentleness, intuition, collaborative, communicative and community oriented, to name a few. Best, P(D) The 'pure divine feminine' characteristics are wonderful, don't get me wrong, it's just that masculine mentality or authority can exhibit those same characteristics (apart from life-giving It's widsom, intelligence combined with goodness that is lacking in the power structures of society in general. Male and Female can both be guilty of lacking wisdom, intelligence and goodness. Sometimes the 'divine' can be 'deception', I just hope your divine is genuine divinity. ;D Gotta watch the vid below, skip to 4 minutes and watch if you don't want to watch the entire vid.. I agree with you sky, and I'm not advocating for either the masculine or the feminine. I'm merely playing the role of passive reporter, and reporting that there are some who believe that we are headed towards a new world of the divine feminine, and that it's probably not of the "snooky" variety.

Look at how the cigarette pack and pencils are laid out. Sort of suggesting an axe. Like what had been used on the two girls, and what was going to be used on the bathroom door. A little subliminal suggestion. ;D --------------- An ADLER typewriter. Reminded me of the name of record producer Lou Adler. "...Adler can often be seen sitting court side next to Jack Nicholson at Los Angeles Lakers home games. Adler owns The Roxy Theatre with his son Nic, who operates the historic music venue, on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, California. Peter Fonda reportedly partly based his character Terry Valentine in The Limey on Adler, according to Fonda's interview on the DVD. He is also the uncle of former Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler."

THE SHINING - SOMETHING IN THE RIVER OF BLOOD (UPDATED) www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7-GKHM5HZ8I'm posting this for what it's worth. (I've been obsessed with Kubrick of late.) The person who posted the video doesn't tell you what he thinks it is, as far as I know.

The person who posted the video doesn't tell you what he thinks it is, as far as I know. I appreciate some of Rob Ager's ideas about Kubrick, but I believe he's chasing his tail on this one. The object in question is most likely just part of whatever apparatus they designed to create the blood flood. I hinted at a possible symbolic meaning of the blood flood here.
