Beautiful scan Jojo. Now if you can get a closer pic of the guy on the left as you did with the Derek Taylor pic we can figure out who that is.

Yes indeed, JoJo. Thanks for the great scan! And once again, with feeling... Pepper Paul's Jawline Compared to Derek's jawline They're different angles, but that doesn't account for the very different lengths of these two jawlines.

Funny thing about this picture is there are too many people on board. From "At The Apple's Core",by Denis O'Dell, p113: ....and John and Paul, Neil, Brian Lewis, Magic Alex, Derek, Mal and I flew out to New York on 11 May.Then: It was agreed that the first official 'Apple board meeting', as it was billed, should take place somewhere unusual. So on 12 May we spent the day in meetings on a Chinese junk that sailed around the Statue of Liberty. This particular stunt was probably thought up by Derek. At any rate, he entered the spirit of the proceedings with gusto, even donning a sailor's cap. We didn't do much at the inaugural meeting. We took a few photographs on the boat and we had a bit of a chat while circumnavigating the statue. Nothing, at least as I remember it, was discussed of any significance. He also mentions Paul and Linda meeting up later in secret while in NY, but it seems a good bet that she was there, along with other hangers-on that Denis didn't see fit to mention.. Not just the "Apple's core" names mentioned above. A picture of all the core members: And a crop of the guy on the right:

Looking at the large version, if that's not JPM on the left I'd be amazed.

I'm with you on the jacket, B.
It IS Derek's jacket. I'm proposing that Pepper Paul's face was attached to Derek's head, a la the CIA/Lee Harvey Oswald 1960s version of photoshop.

How about how he holds his brew in his left hand?
Interesting tidbits in this book I found while researching the boat matter. Denis was trying to put together ideas and present movie concepts to United Artists, and while you may have heard of this one, he wanted to make a movie of "Lord of the Rings" with the Beatles in key roles. They were excited for a while, and they were discussing who would play which role. So, Denis got a dialog going with Stanley Kubrick, who initially seemed warm to the idea, but amazingly had never read the books. Some time passed, and after reading the books said the idea of making a movie from this story was "impossible". (hah sure) Denis didn't give up and arranged a meeting with the Beatles and Kubrick but.. After talking to SK the Beatles suddenly lost interest, essentially SK talked them out of it.. Too bad!
And how Kubrick was wrong!

Why would the CIA add different Pauls to a picture? Wouldn't it be the other way around? Sorry. I should have been more clear. My "CIA/Lee Harver Oswald 1960s version of photoshop" reference was to this doctored photo from the early sixties: I was trying to make the point that photo manipulation WAS an option, even in 1968. I wasn't suggesting that the CIA doctored the "3 Paul's" photo, however. It would have been done by someone in the Beatles' inner circle, just like all of the other clues would have been placed.

But still, why would anyone paste his head in? If there are three Pauls on a boat, would "they" try to take two of them out?

You could ask the same question about ANY of the other clues. Why do the flowers on the cover of Pepper spell PAUL?, while simultaneously appearing like left-handed bass guitar? Why does a scene in Yellow Submarine show TWO Pauls? Why does this image appear on the van window at the car crash scene in the Free As A Bird video? Only one of the Pauls on the boat is CONCLUSIVELY "Paul". The chap on the left and the one on the right are inconclusive. Consider them to be like the any of the other PID/PWR clues that have been sprinkled throughout the past 40+ years. They've been put in that photo in order to provide more unprovable "proof" that there was more than one Paul. It's another clue for you all.

Quoted:
"I was trying to make the point that photo manipulation WAS an option, even in 1968."
Photo manipulation has been possible since the first photograph was taken, and has been manipulated just as tape recordings have. Dark room work allowed for just as many adjustments, it just took longer than photoshop.
Especially if you have two people that already look similar and have a similar shape. You just block out the portions you don't want during the first exposure, then cover those areas and make a second exposure, combining the two. Simple as pie for an artist.

That FAAB picture used to completely freak me out when I first saw it. Whether you believe PID/PWR or not, there is no denying that these clues were deliberately planted for some reason. Whoever thinks that every single one these anomalies happened purely by chance is one of the crazy ones!

I, myself, have never had a problem seeing "Paul" in the car window, and it has ALWAYS freaked me out every time I do. Maybe I can help you out a bit Jude... Just the other day I followed a link from Tafultong's blog to the following YouTube account: www.youtube.com/user/BeatlepaulwindowOnce there, I checked out a few of his videos, the first one being his very first that he posted to his account. The whole video is comprised almost entirely of fades - most of which I've seen before, but some I have not - and one of the fades he presents pertains specifically to the image in the window in the "Free as a Bird" video. So what I just did was go back to his YouTube page, and grab a few screen captures of the video to post here for you to see.... I'm thinking they should help you to see the "Paul" image a little clearer; but, if not, you might want to check out the specific video I grabbed the screencaps from.... Here's a link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=qm4-b108DMsThe car window fade happens at about 1:28 or so into the video. Hope that helps.
