Are you saying the blue-faced fellow at 2:36? I'm not convinced.

About Coming Up, it's not the only McCartney video that throws the idea of two Pauls out there at the very least. Two others that come to mind are "Wonderful Christmastime" and "Ever Present Past" just off the top of my head.

"Coming up" features a double trick!! This is one of the early Pauls - the Paul in the trunk, and the one who was at Circus Soleil. While the counterpart was fighting off a court case in London.

You are probably very right. Don't get me started. There aren't enough hours in the day. yfrog.com/1hcomingup3paulfront1jHere are 5 numbers. Which one does not belong? 4 9 16 19 25 what is with these codes? I can not get the thumbnail codes right....

Except at 1:21 - 1:22. He's playing a trumpet there.
I wonder what the significance of the one horn player being out of synch with the 3 others is. They're 'clean cut'; he's the hippy. A metaphor for 'Paul and the 3 Beatles', in some way?

Are the other characters in the 'Coming Up' video (shaggy drummer, Elvis Costello-like and Ozzy like guitarists, well-coifed sax player, etc.) clues to other roles The Pauls have played in modern pop/culture? I mean, why only include Beatlemania-era Paul as a shout-out to previous incarnations and then still include 'Paul'(s) playing these other parts -- none of the rest of which are recognizable Paul-incarnations? They could have done Magical Mystery Tour/Sgt. Pepper/Abbey Road-era Paul or Wings Mullet-era Paul or simply made additional references to iconic moments on the theme of The Beatles Coming Up that would have been short-hand for fans. But, instead, it's the menagerie of characters all played (ok two are played by Linda or Lindas) by Pauls but only the lead singer and one of the Paul characters are identifiable.

Drummer is Ginger Baker of Cream. Guitarists are Buddy Holly and Ozzy Osbourne. If Faul is playing different musicians we can assume Beatlemania era Paul is a different musician.

I'm not sure what you mean. Workhorse Paul plays Ozzy. Half-Face Paul plays the drummer and MopTop Paul. One Eyed Paul plays the sax. The quality is too low res for me to figure out much beyond that. But my point is that no one needed twelve different Pauls to ever be on different stages simultaneously. We can presume that at least most of them were bare bones musicians or could at least carry a tune. If they could (and they have) slid into the role of PM, could some of them have not also slid into other public personas while others were busy performing the role of PM? I'll go on to say that I've seen enough indications that a John became a Paul and that Tara was an early George to believe that many of these personalities are Collaborative Characters.

FYI, the keyboardist is supposed to be Ron Mael of the band 'Sparks'. Saw an interview with Paul & Linda around the time the 'Coming Up' video came out and they indicated that's who the keyboardist was supposed to be.
