What "proof" do you have that "Faul" is brown? "Faul" looks white to me? What did "Faul" have, vitiligo? And this gpsy crap makes no sense. Why do you think "Faul" is a gypsy? I'm sorry if I start a flame war, but these are questions that need answering.

You won't start a flame war, because I won't participate. Read all the messages I posted about Gypsies. It's all explained there.

I'd say the 'Brown' thing was obviously a thinly veiled racist comment on McCartneys behalf. Im not sure where all these brown/gypsy references come from. As someone who has had contact with gypsies all his life (I live and work in an area that has great significance for catholics and attracts gypsies by the van load - literally) I have never once heard these references.

You were born ten years after Faul wrote that comment during the filming of MMT. It's possible that "brown" was slang in use when Faul grew up and then it fell out of use. I'm finding references to it from the 1870's--on. I'll keep reading the books and finding and posting the references, and not at all backing down from what I will prove to be the fact that Replacement Paul has a Romany background.

I was reading the "Linda McCartney" entry in Bill Harry's The Paul McCartney Encyclopedia, and in her last interview Linda of the Scarsdale privileged background was talking about her life with Paul: "I love it when there's a power cut, no light, no heat and I'm having to cook over an open fire while Paul serenades me on guitar. I love that simple life." The Romany life is centered around the open fire that provides them with light, heat, and cooking facilities. She knew how to please her man.

When you camp you use an open for light, heat, and cooking, so does that mean camping is for gypsies? I don't think so. I think she loves it because it's a very bonding moment.

Paul may have camped out as a Boy Scout, but he never did it as an adult. I have never read where Linda Eastman was sent away to summer camp as a child. So where did this love of the open fire come from? If you read enough books about Romany life you realize that this, with all the other things I've found and posted, prove Faul's gypsy background. Again, I'm looking for Faul's true identity---that's the cake. This is the icing.

Somebody send out three guys to follow him around playing on a guitar, a violin and a tambourine and see if he can't resist getting into a dance; a wild, pulsating, gyrating dance with lots of hand clapping and "ya-ya-ya-ya-ya-ya-yah!" . Then you'll know. You'll know he's got the Gypsy in his soul.

Pete was a childhood hero of mine, and I wanted to ask for his autograph, but the guy sitting next to him was completely star struck and fawned his poor ear off. Pete was a polite gentleman and pretended to be interested. By the time we got to Portland and Pete finally got away from the guy I felt so relieved for him that I couldn't bring myself to bother him. -j

Of course, if Rose had spoken one could re engage in mature conversation, but there is no longer a need to revisit his celebrity or return to "fawning"--that HAS get real old to Rose.

Rather tacky, actually. But, well, you see, it would be one way to establish his Gypsyhood. Isn't there a list somewhere? A list of enrolled Gypsies? Can we check the list? I just looked on the net--there is no list. I am afraid we are just not going to be able to tastefully and discretely find out whether or not Bill has a little Gypsy in His Soul.

Read We Are The Romani People by Ian Hancock (University of Hertfordshire Press, 2002). He has a list of people of Romani descent. They include 1940's actress Rita Hayworth, 1920's-30's actor Charlie Chaplin, and President Bill Clinton. And they are looking into Elvis having Romani relatives (you or someone else mentioned that on the guest board, I believe.) Professor Hancock was complaining in the book that he knows of famous persons who refuse to publicly acknowledge their Romani roots, and how, if they would, this would help Romany people around the world. I didn't post this before because I could hear the complaints about "pure speculation" if I said he could have been aiming that complaint at Sir Paul (among others.)

From what I'm reading Linda was too stoned to note her surroundings. michelle, are you talking about what you're reading from the quote or that you are reading a book? Pardon me for being a little scattered on this, I'm preoccupied with some research.

And of course if we put pete Rose together with stan Lee along with our subject matter we get........ How could I have missed it? Was my head up my ass that far? Everything's coming up roses. Rose sings: Here she is, boys! Here she is, world! Here's Rose!
Curtain up! Light the lights! Play it, boys!
Ya either got it, or ya ain't. And, boys, I got it! Ya like it? Well, I got it!
Some people got it and make it pay. Some people can't even give it away. This people's got it and this people's spreadin' it around! You either have it or you've had it!
Hello, everybody! My name is Rose! What's yours? How do you like them eggrolls, Mr. Goldstone? Hold your hats and hallelujah. Mama's gonna show it to you. Ready or not, shhh, here comes Mama.
Mama's talkin' loud. Mama's doin' fine. Mama's gettin' hot. Mama's goin' stong. Mama's movin' on. Mama's all alone. Mama doesn't care. Mama's lettin' loose. Mama's got the stuff. Mama's lettin' go. Mama? Mama's got the stuff. Mama's gotta move. Mama's gotta go. Mama? Mama? Mama's gotta let go.
Why did I do it? What did it get me? Scrapbooks full of me in the background. Give 'em love and what does it get ya? What does it get ya? One quick look as each of 'em leaves you. All your life and what does it get ya? Thanks a lot and out with the garbage, They take bows and you're battin' zero.
I had a dream. I dreamed it for you, June. It wasn't for me, Herbie. And if it wasn't for me then where would you be, Miss Gypsy Rose Lee?
Well, someone tell me, when is it my turn? Don't I get a dream for myself? Starting now it's gonna be my turn. Gangway, world, get off of my runway! Starting now I bat a thousand! This time, boys, I'm taking the bows and
everything's coming up Rose! Everything's coming up roses! Everything's coming up roses this time for me! For me! For me! For me! For me! For me! For me! Yeah!

My reason in posting actions and words that reinforce my theory that Faul is of Romany origin is that these actions and words are consistent throughout the time that Faul has been on the scene. He is INconsistent in portraying Paul to the point of telling some interviewers that they know more about him (as Paul) than he does. If he were trying to play Gypsy as a lark, he'd play at it for a while and quit. From what I've read of the Gypsy life (and I've been plowing through the books), he lives a life that reflects his upbringing. And I'm going at this ass-backward because you usually find someone's identity, and then trace their actions, but, of course, with Faul, his actions are public and it's finding his identity that's the challenge. This theory makes sense, and it will pan out.
