I use a library computer for posting, and except for new thread posts, I have no way of posting anything but basic typing---no colors, no different fonts, no nothing. Is there someway I can add other features to my posts?

The library computer must have Java turned off on the browser. You could turn it on if they haven't locked out patrons from doing so. Or, ask the librarian to fix it? There is also the option of inserting the code manually, here is a bit of info: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BBCode

Java is available on this browser. What was happening was that I was using the "Quick Reply" option instead of the "Reply" option. I'll learn computers.

Or not. Thank you for "repairing" my post on "The Doctors, the Dentists of Harley Street" thread, JoJo. I really don't have time to figure out the quirks of computer applications, but I will soldier on. ;D

Technical Question 2: Can someone post a message without being listed on the "Active Users in The Past 24 Hours" list? Jude posted a message at 6:23PM, today, July 30th., in the "Faul is Brown" thread, but he isn't listed as an active user. How is this possible?

Anyone who changes the "visibilty" option in their profile won't show up on the most recent users list. I won't say whether or not Jude does that to respect his privacy, but the fact that choosing that option gets you out of the list is public domain information.

Technical question #3: I haven't seen anyone describing photos they've uploaded as being from books. Does the copyright fair use policy apply to book photos, as far as you are aware? When I can get a zip drive, there are a minimum of five photos I would like to upload from different books. Thanks.

Anything I scan/upload, I always source. However a lot of photos make their way here by way of some web site or another, and the source of the pics is lost along the way. Fair use is tricky, best to not a post a boatload from one book, but a few here and there don't raise too many alarms. I got a cease and desist email for doing the "boatload" thing once, but.. I ended up becoming friends with the author, strange how things work out..
