Nilsson's 10 Little Indians was actually a play on the 10 Commandments, but you and Iameye are both correct about the genealogy. What we actually have here is an amalgam of the old Nursery Rhyme and the 10 Commandments (yes, those – Moses and Mt Sinai etc.) As the song progresses each of the Indians falls victim as he fails to live up to a different one of God’s laws. For what it’s worth, here are the details:
Indian 1 - One stood looking at another man's wife/Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife (or commit adultery)
Indian 2 - One took another's goods/Thou shalt not steal
Indian 3 - One told a lie about another's best friend/Thou shalt not bear false witness
Indian 4 - One thought he'd found another way to get to Heaven/Thou shalt have no other gods before me
Indian 5 - One took another's life/Thou shalt not commit murder
Indian 6 - One pulled his mother down/Honour thy father and mother
Indian 7 - One...forgot to say his prayers/Remember the Sabbath Day and keep it Holy
Indian 8 - One took the name of God in vain/ Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain
Indian 9 - One took a liking to a picture of himself/Thou shalt not make graven images
Indian 10 - One...looking for the sun/this is unclear...probably to do with having other gods again - the 10 commandments are actually more like 14 anyway - coveting the neighbour's wife and committing adultery are 2 different commandments - I think this was just a dramatic way for Nilsson to end the song!

The last Indian differs from Indian # 9, who had made an image which he idolized,
in that he "idolized" the sun and moon, and presumably bowed down to worship them.
It's not terribly important to the discussion, but that's the distinction.

When you read Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking Glass you can easily see that Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds is a parody of Carroll's story: *Alice takes a boat ride in a river *She encounters giant flowers *She encounters a rocking-horse creature and wants to know what it eats *She takes a train ride (with a beetle no less) John even calls the story out by name when he says: "looking glass ties." We find another reference to Through the Looking Glass in the song Getting Better. The lads sing the chorus: "Better, better, better," rising in pitch with each 'better.' Here are two relevant snippets from Through the Looking Glass, chapter V, Wool and Water: ...the Queen said, `that would have been better still; better, and better, and better!' Her voice went higher with each `better,' till it got quite to a squeak at last.
`Oh, much better!' cried the Queen, her voice rising to a squeak as she went on. `Much be-etter! Be-etter! Be-e-e-etter! Be-e-ehh!' He wears a flat-topped hat on the front cover. Ringo is the rook, or castle.  Paul has his back to us, with no hand signs visible. He is turned a-round. This is a pun on the letter "O" because "O" is a-round letter. To emphasize the point, Paul has round buttons on his back. Paul is the queen. (But only when he is turned a-round. More on this in another post.) Why is chess so important? Let's go back to the Goldbug: "A good glass in the Bishop's [Castle]."Through the Looking Glass is about chess, and the key to finding the treasure in Poe's Goldbug is to use a looking glass in the Bishop's Castle: two chess pieces and a looking glass. A perfect fit! There is your dovetail joint. This is where the two stories come together. They share the common elements of chess and looking glasses. (And both stories feature a beetle!) You use the Looking Glass in the Bishop's Castle to locate, or "get a fix on," the hole in the pirate's skull. When you consider that pirates ply their trade on the ocean then you can make perfect sense of the lyric in Glass Onion that says: Fixing a hole in the ocean (Locating the ocean pirate's left eye) Trying to make a dovetail joint (A seamless connection between Goldbug and Alice) Looking through a glassSo back to the front cover, we see John and Ringo together as bishop and rook. Ringo the rook is John's drummer, so Ringo is literally the Bishop's drummer, or the Bishop's Castle, and we have already seen that when we use the looking glass on Ringo's drum we are able to get a fix on the death's head with the HE^DIE message:  -j 's_tour " The Knight's Tour is a mathematical problem involving a knight on a chessboard. He's been instructing us, as the messenger of God (Hermes). He's been very subtle about it, but all of the esoteric clues in the lyrics, artwork, etc. were leading us towards the discovery of the secrets of creation and destruction. Wow!!  You guys have all done excellent work on this thread. I hope this will help to highlight how the real story and the story being told by the symbolism merge together for a wider picture. Isn't Enoch one of the "Witnesses" that comes back to speak out against the antichrist? McCartney seems to be on the side of all the Evil Controllers of this world, being a bestest friend of the queen and all? Fascinating stuff. Bravo. |

That mental image is pretty damned funny. In all the times I have considered who the Two Witnesses might be, those have to be the last two I would have guessed!! Mysterious ways and all that.... How about the FALSE prophet?

They took him on their wings, and showed him all the Heavens and their inhabitants, including a side trip to Paradise and to the place of punishment and torture of the sinners, which strangely enough was located not too far from paradise. Now, keep in ming that Enoch became Matatron, the FIERY ANGEL, and that Metatron created the cube FROM HIS SOUL. The McCartney song, " My Soul" that I posted above includes the opening line: "I long to know all your secrets I want to walk through your fire" And is "Memory Almost Full" simply a message from Enoch/Metatron informing us that the end is nigh? After all, that's one of the SECRETS he was given, and it's his job to "return to earth for a limited time to instruct everyone, including his sons, in all he learned." "And then the divine transformation took place. Additional wisdom and spiritual qualities caused Enoch's height and breadth to become equal to the height and breadth of the earth. God attached thirty-six wings to his body, and gave him three hundred and sixty-five eyes, each as bright as the sun. His body turned into celestial fire -- flesh, veins, bones, hair, all metamorphosed to glorious flame. Sparks emanated from him, and storms, whirlwind, and thunder encircled his form." From the "Sing the Changes" video...  "The angels dressed him in magnificent garments, including a crown, and arranged his throne. A heavenly herald proclaimed that from then on his name would no longer be Enoch, but Metatron, and that all angels must obey him, as second only to God." Again... McCartney = Enoch = Metatron Enoch was taken up to heaven and made into the Fiery Angel. Metatron was given all of God's secrets, including knowledge of when this world would end and what would come after. Metatron was charged with returning to earth for a limited time to instruct us in all that he learned. THAT is what he's been doing since 1967. He's been instructing us, as the messenger of God (Hermes). He's been very subtle about it, but all of the esoteric clues in the lyrics, artwork, etc. were leading us towards the discovery of the secrets of creation and destruction. These secrets ARE THE TREASURE that Jarv has instructed us to look for. "It's getting very near the end." Indeed. Very nice graphics, and very nice points to consider in this post! Enoch is a most interesting person from Genesis as well as his own so-called apocryphal writings. I agree that the Old Testament (and New Testament) texts support the idea that he is a spiritual character with a large, looming destiny as we proceed into the latter days of this World age. I don't know what all that entails! Clearly he was given much, and from him much is (or will be) expected. But, it is a little perplexing to consider that "Metatron" could have been sidetracked and bamboozled by a Heather Mills, however. Thankfully, Sir Paul seems to be in total recovery from that, er, life episode....... But, regarding Enoch, some believe that he may be pairing up with Elijah one day soon to become the Two Witnesses of Revelation. What is a "Witness?" Isn't that, legally, where a person has provably first hand knowledge concerning the issue they provide witness for? So, a witness speaks not out of education, for that would amount to hearsay, no matter how accurate; but a legal witness speaks from experiential knowledge of his topic. Enoch was, allegedly, present to witness various activities of God and the angels. Therefore legally eligible to provide such witness. I am not sure I buy that William Shepherd was present as well. That being said, he may be a messenger of sorts and he may have a fiery countenance--on some level! He is certainly a knowledgeable man in many areas. And fancy this--- if God tells Macca a secret, then who am I to question it? If God needs proof of the fact that William Shepherd can keep a secret, than what better than his silence and cautious denials over the years to keep it. As for recognizing this--who better than those of us here who deeply suspect that he is keeping a good one! (I.e., There are two Paul McCartneys). Who would God trust more to keep a secret? God, Who is ostensibly that Master of All-Secret Keeping, must have noticed by now that Macca has kept the "dual" nature of his career "in the closet" (so to speak) for decades. and may have earned a certain appreciation from Him for doing so. But we are told in certain scripture that one day, all will be revealed! So, of course, the Beatles mystery will out itself, perhaps even on schedule, equally, the mysterious way God worked out the Universe may become comprehensible to those who can accept it. Possessing all knowledge isn't perhaps best for everybody-----but in time, the sum total of people will have "a functional view of everything." Which is like fung schwai for the mind; you don't need EVERY available piece of furniture to make a nice living room! Enoch learned to the mighty degree of what he was formatted to handle; Macca the same, those of us here, the same. But for me, if a situation in life stumps me, or when I feel I have to comprehend something better in order to "get on with it", I can always go and consult the Angel in My Closet, and He will tell me what I need to know. I don't have to be an Enoch; I wasn't made "like unto an Enoch". We're all made differently- some have more memory terrabytes than others----- and some of us are PC's.... and SOME of us-----are Macca-Intoshes. D'oh! Have you seen the new iPaul, from Apple? |
