"You think this is some kind of game?!" "What are you, some kind of Republican?"I am the dreamer - you are the dreamWe're all walk-ens! ;D Good post, btw, Denny. Iameye tells me that I could have read more into the guitar-playing woman image in my analysis of her post on the previous page. My best take on that would be that, in the Last Trip to Tulsa song by Neil Young, which, imo is about what Paul did after he "died" and left the Beatles, there is a verse that goes: Well, I used to be a folk singer Keeping managers alive, When you saw me on a corner And told me I was jive. So I unlocked your mind, you know To see what I could see. If you guarantee the postage, I'll mail you back the key. Well I woke up in the morning With an arrow through my nose There was an Indian in the corner Tryin' on my clothes. So perhaps he became a folk singer, disguised as a woman, of course. Ergo: The guitar playing woman image would represent Paul in his post-Beatle career.

I wrote:"Grandfather Aleister couldn't be here today, so I've taken the liberty of posting an excerpt from a movie with a meaningful Volkswagon "beetle" scene in it. You may have heard of this one; it's called "Candy" and features some wanna-be movie actor named Ringo Starr. Look for the scene starting at 2:44 where the blonde woman, Candy, is walking along the bridge. Right after that, at 2:56 you'll see the dark beetle approaching. " ------------------------------ YouTube member Grandfather Aleister was enamoured of the notion that in some movies, Volkswagon 'beetles' were strategicly placed in scenes to represent The Beatles, as individuals, and presumably, in keeping with the Hollywood traditions, a black beetle would represent a Beatle who was "bad". He particularly made a case for the concept of beetle placement in videos he did about the movie "The Shining", which we have discussed in this thread: invanddis.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=ra&action=display&thread=4922&page=1Regretably, he deleted his videos on the topic, which is unfortunate, imo, because I think his exposee of the Beatle links implicit in "The Shining" is particularly relevant to under- standing the story of the Beatles. "The Shining" could almost be said to be a necessary component for grasping what the story told by the Beatles itself is, so I would like to revisit "The Shining" a bit, and shine a little light on what was actually "shone", imo. Unfortunately, I have to run off and do some errands right now, so you'll just have to wait! ;D

Just a little self-indulgence before I continue, if I may. Quote from Tafultong's Iamaphoney blog, January 31, 2010 4:19 PM: "Taf has more in common with LetterB on NIR these days than Iamaphoney. They both have the same act where you draw connections from anywhere to the Beatles. You could do it with Paris Hilton in about 5 seconds."The perfect response to that was posted in a blog mentioned today by P(D).en.ny.La(i).ne. here. The author of the Tonya Harding is Lee Harvey Oswald article, writes the following in a different section of his blog: "Twin Peaks My spiritual awakening began in 1990 with director David Lynch's television show, Twin Peaks. Fascinated with the symbols and dreams in the program, I became convinced that I had deciphered the secrets of the show. According to my theory, Indian spirits lived in the woods surrounding the town of Twin Peaks. When the lumber mill ravaged the forest, the angry spirits were forced from their homes. One took refuge in the log of the Log Lady and spoke to her. Others occupied the all-wood Great Northern Hotel. As revenge for the destruction of their woodland home, the spirits began possessing various people in town. One spirit, "Bob," took possession of Leland Palmer, causing him to murder his daughter Laura. Another result of the spirit-induced conflicts was that the lumber mill was burned down. I waited for the show to eventually confirm my theory of spiritual ecoterrorism. Instead, the show devolved into a routine soap opera. Had I read into the show a meaning that wasn't there? I came to another conclusion: The spiritual world is trying to send us messages through creative artists. Writers and artists are usually unaware of this process and do not understand the messages that are symbolically represented in their movies, TV shows, songs and other creative endeavors. Twin Peaks is but one example of this phenomenon. I would subsequently discover symbolic messages in the movies Independence Day, and the 1982 remake of The Thing. "---------------- (emphasis mine, throughout - LB)That is the game in a nut shell! Once you start to perceive the connections that apparently are there, the full picture begins to emerge from what appears on the surface. Unlike the artists, writers, and musicians who create without cognisance, Stanley Kubrick appears to have known full-well what the situation is, and he deliberately attempted to incorporate many levels of meaning into his films. Not the least of these was the matter of "Paul is Dead/Replaced" in the movie "The Shining", imo.

Interesting post, B. While I was reading and watching videos you posted, my mind got lost and went off on another road. This is what came into my head. Ringo Starr was the narrator for 52 episodes of "Thomas The Tanks Engine" in which Junior Campbell wrote the music. The meaning of Thomas is "twin" and reminded me that in some circles the brother of Jesus was none other than Thomas also known as Jude Thomas or Judas Didymus Thomas. In the day, the Gnostics believed Jesus was a twin. Where does it all tie in? Nowhere, man.

"Where does it all tie in? Nowhere, man." Ooooooh, I wouldn't be too sure about that! I just love it when we're right on top of things here! This has come up before here in the "were the moon landings faked?" discussion, but this is still fresh news on "the internets": Faked Moon Landings and Kubrick's 'The Shining'news.discovery.com/space/faked-moon-landings-and-kubricks-the-shining.htmlpublished By Robert Lamb | Thu Jan 21, 2010 11:03 AM excerpt: Room 237: In King's novel, the haunted room is numbered 217. In the movie, it's 237. Why? "Because the average distance from the Earth to the Moon is 237,000 miles." It's actually 238,857 miles, but close enough, right? Weidner proposes that the haunted room represents the filming of the faked moon landing itself. "It's just like pictures in a book, Danny. It isn't real." ----------- It's a great read, even though it pooh poohs the "conspiracy theory" etc., but at the same time: Return to Moon Plan Scrappednews.discovery.com/space/return-to-moon-plan-scrapped.html"The Obama Administration cites tough economic times as a reason it is proposing cancelling a NASA mission to return to the moon." I guess it will be harder to fake this time around, with Kubrick gone. ;D

It's REALLY interesting that you brought Thomas up just now, SS, because B and I were discussing THIS VERY THING the other day. I posted about Thomas/Jude/Didymus in Reply #63 in the 'Grandfather Aleister's latest' thread, but I didn't connect it to Thomas the Tank engine, AND...I got an important detail wrong in my analysis. I had mistakenly assumed that because Jack's reflection was in the far left (our right) mirror while he approached the bar, that he must have been sitting in front of that mirror as well while he spoke to Lloyd the bartender. I recently watched The Shining again, and noticed that Jack actually sits in front of the CENTER mirror, so he's speaking to the Last Supper equivalent of Jesus, not Thomas. The entire analysis is below. invanddis.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=ra&action=display&thread=4922&page=3Now that you mention it, compare this: three pillars of creation? with the mirrors behind the bar (00:42): Lloyd the Bartender scene 1, The shiningwww.youtube.com/watch?v=T0g1WUTuIQ8
Well, if you'd overlay the Gold Room Bar with the Last Supper, Jack would be talking to Thomas the Apostle (who's face appears in the right window frame, corresponding to Lloyd as jacks mirror image in the right mirror behind the bar).
Who was Thomas the Apostle?
* The Greek Didymus: in three of these passages (John 11:16; 20:24; and 21:2), Thomas is more specifically identified as "Thomas, also called the Twin (Didymus)". * The Aramaic Tau'ma: the name "Thomas" itself comes from the Aramaic word for twin: T'oma (תאומא). Thus the name convention Didymus Thomas thrice repeated in the Gospel of John is in fact a tautology that omits the Twin's actual name. * 'Didymus' or 'Didymos' is also the Greek name of the constellation Gemini, which some scholars believe to be associated with the Thomas, character in the Bible.
Other Names
The Nag Hammadi "sayings" Gospel of Thomas begins: "These are the secret sayings that the living Jesus spoke and Didymos Judas Thomas recorded." Syrian tradition also states that the apostle's full name was Judas Thomas, or Jude Thomas. Some have seen in the Acts of Thomas (written in east Syria in the early 3rd century, or perhaps as early as the first half of the 2nd century) an identification of Saint Thomas with the apostle Judas son of James, better known in English as Jude. However, the first sentence of the Acts follows the Gospels and the Acts of the Apostles in distinguishing the apostle Thomas and the apostle Judas son of James. Few texts identify Thomas' other twin, though in the Book of Thomas the Contender, part of the Nag Hammadi library, it is said to be Jesus himself: "Now, since it has been said that you are my twin and true companion, examine yourself…"
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_(Apostle)
And this:
"The principal document concerning Saint Thomas is the Acta Thomae. If the place of its origin is really Edessa, this would lend considerable probability to the statement, made in Acta Thomae, that the relics of Apostle Thomas really came from the East. The legend may be judged from the fact that in more than one place it represents Saint Thomas (Judas Thomas, as he is called here and elsewhere in Syriac tradition) as the twin brother of Jesus. The Thomas in Syriac is equivalant to didymos in Greek which means twin. The story itself runs briefly as follows: At the division of the Apostles India fell to the lot of Thomas. When Thomas declared his inability to go Jesus appeared to Abban, the envoy of Gundafor an Indian king, and sold Thomas to Abban to be his slave and serve Gundafor as a carpenter. Abban and Thomas sailed to Andrapolis where they landed and attended the marriage feast of the ruler's daughter. Strange occurences followed and Christ under the appearence of Thomas exhorted the bride to remain a Virgin. Saint Thomas undertook to build a palace for Gundafor but was imprisoned after spending the money entrusted to him on the poor. The Apostle escaped miraculously and Gundafor was converted. Thomas journeyed to the city of King Misdai (Syriac Mazdai), where he converted Tertia's wife, Misdai, and his son, Vazan. Saint Thomas was condemed to death led out of city to a hill where he was pierced with spears by four soldiers. He was buried in the tomb of the ancient kings but his remains were afterwards removed to the West."
www.thesacredheart.com/sts/sthomas.htm
Keep in mind that Thomas as the twin of Jesus is controversial, but we're talking about ancient scriptures, so what isn't controversial?
So, if B is right, and Jack represents Faul, then the bar scene represents Faul talking to his own twin (JPM), or Jesus's Twin -- this is getting a bit confusing, actually. ;D
Oh, and I just stumbled across this, too:
"A SCOTS author claims to have gone one better than Dan Brown in solving history's greatest conspiracy theories.
Jack Lawson has promised the publication of his own novel will reveal the true secret behind the Da Vinci Code - that Jesus had a "twin brother" who was crucified in his place.
Though he is prepared to be derided as an "attention-seeking lunatic", the Glasgow-based writer professes to have verifiable proof that explains why Jesus was able to avoid the crucifixion and have children with Mary Magdalene."

Lloyd: How are things going Mr. Torrance? Jack: Things could be better, Lloyd. Lloyd: I hope it's nothing serious. Jack: No, nothing serious. Just a little problem with the old sperm bank upstairs. Nothing I can't handle though, Lloyd. Thanks. Jack: You were always the best of 'em. Best goddamn bartender from Timbuktu to Portland, Maine, or Portland Oregon ( attention Jarv!), for that matter.

Ok, this is going to go pretty deep, so let's review the situation a bit. We're in a thread that I opened discussing the appearance of a black Volkswagon in the movie 'Candy'. Grandfather Aleister at YouTube had pointed out that the placement of VW 'beetles' in movies could represent The Beatles symbolicly. A number of beetles are incorporated into the film "The Shining", as well as other images that suggest there may be a Beatles-related theme afoot in the movie. At the same time, there have been suggestions that "The Shining" was Stanley Kubrick's way of telling people that the Apollo program lunar landings were a fraud; one which he had had a hand in perpetuating by doing the movie sets for what the public was shown as "the moon". On top of that, we have the movie itself telling the tale of "The Shining", a book by Stephen King, but in a somewhat modified form. Mr. Kubrick has alledgedly incorporated imagery that suggests links to atrocities done to the Native Americans, as well as to the approach of the year 2012. Remember that The Overlook was partially built over a Native American burial grounds in the movie. (This is not the case in the book.) In any case, we can see that there's a lot going on in the film; that it has many levels, and so sometimes it's a little hard to follow how all these themes are inter-related, if, in fact they are. And then, on top of that, the story itself shifts back and forth through time in the way that Danny and Jack experience their "shining" moments. So..... let's see if we can make sense of all this. ;D First of all, let me address a quote from a post P(D)enny posted above, which had been, in large measure, a re-post of a post he had made some time back in another thread; specifically this: "So, if B is right, and Jack represents Faul, then the bar scene represents Faul talking to his own twin (JPM), or Jesus's Twin -- this is getting a bit confusing, actually. ;D"I do not feel now, at this time, that Jack represents Faul, so let's be clear about that. We'll get to who he represents shortly. Consider the basic plot of the movie: Jack is the caretaker of The Overlook for what is presumably the winter of 1980, the year the movie came out. He has been told that a former caretaker, Charles Grady, had had the job in 1970, but in an apparent fit of "cabin fever", had killed his wife, two daughters, and then himself. Jack happens to meet a Delbert Grady in the Gold Ballroom, where Mr. Grady unwittingly spills a tray full of drinks on him, while a wild party goes on around them. However this party is from some time in the past, so when Jack accuses "Mr. Grady" of having killed his family, Delbert has no awareness of it, because, in a sense, not only has it not happened yet, but also because he appears to be a different Grady than the Charles Grady who came to The Overlook in the future. In the book "The Shining", the caretaker who killed his family is named Delbert Grady, but in the movie, Kubrick names that person Charles. Delbert Grady tells Jack that he, Jack, is the caretaker at the hotel, and always has been. A key point to understand here is: at that time, which, from our perspective, is in the past. Not only is it in the past, but apparently it is in a different time line, as Delbert Grady is already somewhat up in years, and truly would be too old to be the Charles Grady that comes to The Overlook in 1970; the fellow who Jack mistakes him for. Even so we can possibly infer that the "shining" that goes on in the hotel involves not only echoes of the past, but echoes of events from other time-lines/realities as well. If Jack is about 40 in 1980, how is it possible for him to also be about 40 in what presumably is the 4th of July party in 1921? In one sense, then, the scene depicted below could suggest that the Jack in the mirror is looking from one timeline towards Jack in another. One might say that perhaps the Jack in the mirror is the Jack who attended the July 4th ball in 1921, looking at the Jack who is the caretaker of the hotel in 1980, and - and this is significant - that both Jacks are the same person or soul. More to come, obviously, but I want to get this posted before my cat deletes it. ;D Just a note: We've barely scratched the surface! There's more to come!

I had made a similar remark elsewhere, SS. ;D So we have P(D)enny relating the upheld hand to the one over Faul's head on Pepper, and iameye extending the thought to include "the word" (open book) being over "the ram(?)" and twins (gemini) which might be interpreted as both varieties of Paul; the RAM one (Faul) and the Gemini born one. So "the word", protected by the hand of the divine, found expression in the Pauls, and continues to do so through music that The Beatles (and others) have made. Of course, I may have just totally insulted P(D)enny and iameye, with my interpretation of their chosen imagery, but it really doesn't matter if I'm wrong or right, 'cause if I'm wrong, I'm right where I belong, and I'm sure they'll let me know about it. And so why the "thud"? I am guessing that the cover could mean that Lennon's death ended the transmission of "the word" through Beatles music, and through the 'annointed' Paul (Faul). In other words, John's words were what Paul had sung, and with John's death, the "protection" of Faul's career ended. (This may have been what the cover designer felt.) On a grander scale, one might say this: The concept, I think, of the clue-givers may have been that The Word (aka God, etc.) speaks to you and I through time, using symbols and music; and "what speaks to you" is what works, even if it's "ridiculous" to someone else. It's not that there is no method or "madness" to the clues; they appear to be a presentation of multiple historical religious and literary references in modern guise. In your search for clues, you find "the source" and attune yourself to it/him/her/them. You "find another kind of mind there", and by connecting to it, gain insight into what was intended. And even if you find the evidence was 'spoken' or presented "backwards" (and you very well might ) the clues still work because the "God mind" is able to converse with yours, and enable you to put the clues in a sequential order. Now about that black "beatle".... ;D In Candy's room there are pictures of her heroes on the wall but to get to Candy's room you gotta walk the darkness of

I say there's an 80% chance of "Love, Reign on Me", because it's an invocation for a goddess blessing, and you can bet the farm on "Won't get FOOLed again!" if only because it's a veiled way for the illumined ones to send the Obama administration a message about its performance! As for the game itself - heck - I don't know anything about the teams. (Who plays "left out"? ;D) But the favored theme of the phoenix rising from the ashes favored by Bohemian Grove types would seem to be in keeping with a post-Katrina "N'arlins" win, while the Indianapolis team has the advantage of - um - a lucky horse shoe! 'T will be whomever the goddess favors, as XLlV reduces to 8: My understanding is that Peter Townshend plans to parachute into the arena? So that corresponds somewhat to "the man who fell to Earth"; so looking at the cards, we have: Pete Townshend on the left (destruction of what is false), death and renewal - the phoenix - on the right, and the outcome: the trumpet call of judgement (again favoring the idea of New Orleans), but "a close call". Let's get back to "The Shining". Everyone will want to know about the Beatles clues. I'll do my best here... Here they are, in no particular order. All of them are sufficiently vague, in and of themselves, to have plausible deniablility. That is to say, none of them is really so overtly linked to the PID/PWR mystery that a person seeing them would jump out of his or her chair and shout, "OMG! Look at that!" 1. Obviously Jack and his family are driving up to The Overlook in a yellow "beetle", corresponding to sunshine. In the book it was red, but in the movie, Kubrick made it a yellow "beetle". If you look at the YT clips about the making of "The Shining", you will see that Kubrick also made script adjustments and changes on a yellow typewriter. I think this was quite deliberate. Symbolicly he wanted to "let the sun shine in" to the project, imo. There is a reason for this, I believe, and we will find some surprising evidence in a bit. 2. Early on in the film, we see Wendy reading "Catcher in the Rye" at her home kitchen. This might seem to be a clue, because obviously that book became a significant part of the story of John Lennon's death, but here's what's curious about that: "The Shining" came out in May of 1980. John Lennon wasn't killed until December of that year. Nobody knew that "Catcher in the Rye" would become significant. Or did they? 3. At one point in the movie, when Danny wants to go to the bedroom to get his firetruck ("the fireman"?), the movie "The summer of '42" is playing on the television. Paul McCartney was born in the summer of '42. 4. Delbert Grady's twin daughters who confront Danny in the hall, and who were dead, can be seen as representing the astrological sun sign Gemini. Paul McCartney was born under the sign of Gemini, but was on the cusp of Cancer. 5. A red VW beetle is seen here at 3:13, which has evidently been hit by a large truck due to icy conditions: The Shining - Part 10www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FaNA3SzDQY6. A fellow is seen seated at the large party in the Gold Ballroom here at 6:55 wearing a red carnation of the type so conspicuously not being worn by Faul in the "Your Mother Should Know" clip in the "Magical Mystery Tour". www.youtube.com/watch?v=QobXnJWOP5Q7. The role of Delbert Grady in the book "The Shining" becomes the role of two Grady's in the movie. 8. Danny occupies his body most of the time, but when things become too violent, Tony takes over control, and tells Wendy, "Danny has gone away". This could be seen as analogous to Faul taking over the role of Paul, who had "gone away". 9. Danny wears the "Apollo" sweater in the movie. Not only does this indicate that he is "the sun god", but it also suggests that he is the replacement of the Gemini twins, just as the Apollo space program replaced the Gemini program. Unfortunately, this means he is likely to be the new "sacrifice" as Jack becomes more in tune with the spirit of Delbert and Charles Grady. Obviously Beatles fans know that Faul used the alias "Apollo C Vermouth" when he produced the Bonzo Dog Band's hit, "I am the Urban Spaceman". There are other clues that, no doubt, may correspond, and which I have failed to mention or possibly missed. Feel free to post them, if you would like to. We'll talk about how this ties in with everything shortly. Oh yes, and of course! There's the most 'famous' one of all, which I failed to mention. 10. The scene in which a character in an animal costume similar to the ones worn by the Beatles on the cover of the Magical Mystery Tour album is shown giving someone who appears to represent George Herbert Walker Bush a blow job. (Symbolic, of course. I'm quite certain that no Beatle ever actually did that in fact.) there's more to come!

I deliberately held off on the one clue (imo) that is at once so overt, yet so ridiculous, as to be emminently dismissable. Here it is:
Here's Johnny!
After all, if we are allowing that Stanley Kubrick put Beatle clues into The Shining, much in the same way as it has been said that John put clues into the Beatle records, then couldn't this be a clue, especially in that it was said that John was into Nursery Rhyme style clues?
Of course, at the time the film came out, the "Heeere's Johnny!" remark was understood by audiences to be a mimicking of the way Ed McMahon used to introduce The Late Show host Johnny Carson every night on television, and it certainly worked as a type of macabre humor, but what better cover for a hidden clue could you axe for? (OK, sorry. I'll try to restrain myself.)
I don't think there were any black VW beetles in "The Shining", as there were in "Candy", or other films such as the ones Grandfather Aleister pointed out, like "Rosemary's Baby", if memory serves. Still, John is shown as being the black magician in the MMT comics and photos. If Paul ended up "on the run", could he have been trying to escape from John, just as Danny was trying to escape from Jack in 'The Shining' at the end? I think that may be what Kubrick may have been telling us.
Next: the NASA tie-ins. You may be surprised.

Well, as long as we're being diverted, I am reminded that Bruce played the Superman Bowl last year. I know it isn't really called that, but I don't want poor JoJo to have to pay royalties for me calling it what it's really called. Let's call it XLIV. So... do you dig a pony? Or will the saints come marching in? Knowing that the half time show is an illuminati ritual, what do - You didn't know that? Well now you do. What songs will be played?Baba O'Riley? ("Teenage Wasteland") Nope. It will be seen as a drug promoting song and be banned. I say there's an 80% chance of "Love, Reign on Me", because it's an invocation for a goddess blessing, and you can bet the farm on "Won't get FOOLed again!" if only because it's a veiled way for the illumined ones to send the Obama administration a message about its performance! "Athena"?

Nah, they won't want to be so transparently 'pagan'. I apologize to everyone who may be waiting for the comments about NASA. I've been 'under the weather' all day. I dunno.... probably a little too risquee, but it does rock. I'm guessing they'll do a medley of some sort, and so maybe a smidgen of it will be played. Athena, you picked me up by my lapels and screamed "leave her" It felt like waking up in heaven on an empty meter And now you're stuck with a castrated leader And I hate the creep, I didn't mean that She's a bomb I just said it She's a bomb I didn't mean it, please She's a bomb

Athena could be one of those curious "backwards" clues. The type of clue that works retrospectively. Athena is the name of a rocket system developed in 1993. ("She's a bomb") The Who song is from 1982. And...iamaphoney's "Code" image looks suspiciously like a rocket. All of which may be coincidental, but it does kind of get me into the segway into the Nasa connections, which, I hope, will be coming up shortly.

Interesting too - maybe - that the American knock-off of it was called " Shining Time Station". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shining_Time_Stationexcerpts: "A local named Horace Schemer (simply called Schemer by his friends) runs the station's arcade..." ("Horus" to you.)"The band consists of Didi the drummer, cowboy twin brothers Tex and Rex who together play between them one guitar larger than them..." (Junior Campbell and Mike Nesmith? TweedleFaul I and TweedleFaul II?)"Mr. Conductor is a tiny man who lives in a signal house inside the station's mural and tells the stories of "Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends" to the kids. He can teleport in a cloud of his magic gold dust. In the second season, it is learned that he went to the North Pole at the end of the Christmas special, and his cousin, also named Mr. Conductor (or Mr. C for short), moved into the signal house and took on the role that his cousin played in the first season." And there ya have it!A reading of the episode titles at the wikipedia page is rawther interesting.

The subject of the Gemini 12 space shot has come up here before, as well as at TKIN. A keen-eyed observer noticed that the cover for the Moody Blues album "Days of Future Passed" appeared to artisticly pay homage to that particular flight. The album was released in England on November 11, 1967, and in the US it came out in the Spring of 1968. As with Sgt. Pepper before it, there seems to be a lot of significant imagery on the album cover. It was also the first Moody Blues album featuring the John Lodge and Justin Hayward version of The Moodies, as opposed to the Denny Laine line up. Now I have to tell you, my innocence has been shattered by the recent revelation at tafultong's blog that Faul may be a Billy Martin 3 or 4, and that Justin is a member in good standing of Martin Sr.'s transparently quasi-masonic SODS (Society of Distinguished Songwriters) group. Justin is shown second from right here. Pictures like this make me cringe. In any case, I am beginning to suspect that the quasi-masonic order of SODS took it upon themselves to ensure that after 1966, the major names in British rock would carry the Horus/Isis/Osiris message, if they hadn't already been behind the scenes implementing such a scheme. But getting back to Gemini 12, I remember seeing this image in Life magazine (if memory serves) when I was a teenager, and thinking that it looked to me as if the docking module that the crew of that flight had been practicing docking with, was heading toward some sort of triangular spacecraft, even though the official explanation for the white dots given at the time was that they were some sort of space debris. Here is a picture of the docking module close up: Now, I like Gemini 12 as much as the next guy, but what was so special about that mission that it warranted being commemorated on an album cover? After all, the Gemini missions featured two guys in a space capsule orbiting the Earth. One would think the "big enchilada" would be the Apollo missions, when men (alledgedly) left the Earth's orbit, and sallied forth to explore the moon. Gemini 12 was the last of the Gemini missions. It was launched on November 11, 1966, at 3:46:33 p.m. EST. Or, for those of you whose watches don't measure seconds, it could be said to have been launched at 3:47 EST, rounding off to the nearest minute. 3:47 EST is the first album by the Canadian group Klaatu released in August 1976. more to come

..........Gemini 12 mission patchAldrin you need is Lovell! C moon? I just have to comment that if the docking module was transferred to an awaiting triangular craft, then all bets are off. Any one or any thing that may have been enclosed in the module could have been taken anywhere. But again, why is this mission the one to be commemorated on not one, but two record albums, and what is the connection to the sun? To get to the answer to that, we might want to take another look at The Shining! ;D

If Charles Grady's twin girls in the movie 'The Shining' symbolize the astrological sign of Gemini, and they were killed by Charles, who was the caretaker in 1970, then presumably they represent two souls. The movie shows that Jack is gradually assuming the personality of Charles, and he plans to kill Wendy and Danny, which would be two souls to match the twin souls of the girls, one might think. But wait, Charles killed his wife too! So one might presume that for everything to balance out, Jack would have to kill a third person. If he had successfully killed Wendy and Danny, the third person might have been Dick Halloran. But what you have to remember is that Delbert Grady tells Jack "You have always been the caretaker, Mr. Torrance." which was true in the time that Delbert Grady was alive. If Stanley Kubrick had left things as they were in the book, then the Delbert Grady who assumed the role of caretaker in 1970 would have been presumed by the audince to be the reincarnation of himself from the 1920s, and there would have been no connection to Jack Torrance, the caretaker, but by having Charles Grady being the 1970s caretaker, Kubrick allows for the presumption that Charles in someway is also Jack, who had been the caretaker in the 1920s. Ergo: Charles who killed his wife and daughters is in some way Jack, who also wants to kill his wife and son, because they are threatening his stay at the hotel, which he feels quite at home in, because, as Charles, he is. This would also explain the scene in room 237, when Jack is met by the lovely Mrs. Grady, who as his murdered wife, has "the last laugh" by changing from her foxy self into a rotted corpse while she gives Jack/Charles a kiss. What of the two girls then? They are Danny and Tony! Tony is the invisible twin of Danny in that they both share Danny's body, but Tony hides inside of Danny's mouth. He does, however, take over for Danny when Danny realizes that Jack is planning to kill him, and takes off for parts unknown. Other than when Tony is running Danny's body in his absence, do we ever see Tony in the movie? I think the answer is yes. (Comments coming later) If not, we may have seen him in the poster for the movie, looking out of what may be the sun:

Rush are Canadian, so if 2112 is a date instead of a year, then it would more properly be read as 12/21, which is the winter solstice, and could be a subtle reference to a very particular winter solstice in 2012. An incidentally, 2112 tells the story of a takeover of the Solar System. Keep going B. This is good stuff. P(D)
