Scholars who support the Hebrew etymology say that abracadabra is a corruption of the Hebrew, ebrah kādabri, meaning āI will create as I speak,ā ie that the act of speech will magically create new realities. If this is indeed the derivation, then it would chime with the kabbalistic notion that the words and letters of the Hebrew alphabet have the power to create. This idea is expressed in the Talmudās statement about Bezalel, the master builder of the sanctuary, that āBezalel knew how to combine the letters through which heaven and earth were createdā (Berachot, 55a). Bezalelās creative ability grew out of his insight into the process by which God created the world through combining words and letters. This, in turn, is related to the midrashic theme that the Torah preceded the world and served as its blueprint: āGod looked in the Torah and created the world.ā www.thejc.com/judaism/jewish-words/abracadabra-1.466709Blueprint lol š

In response to Satan's suggestion, Jesus replies, " It is written: 'One does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'"
lol What is meant by the word traditionally translated as pinnacle is not entirely clear since the Greek diminutive form pterugion ("little wing") is not extant in other architectural contexts.[36] Though the form pterux ("large wing") is used for the point of a building by Pollianus,[37] Schweizer feels that little tower or parapet would be more accurate, and the New Jerusalem Bible does use the translation "parapet". The only surviving Jewish parallel to the temptation uses the standard word Å”byt "roof" not "wing": "Our Rabbis related that in the hour when the Messiah shall be revealed he shall come and stand on the roof (Å”byt) of the temple." (Peshiqta Rabbati 62 cād)[38] The term is preserved as "wing" in Syriac translations of the Greek.[39] "Our Rabbis related that in the hour when the Messiah shall be revealed he shall come and stand on the roof of the temple." My copies of the new "Memoirs of Billy Shears - the 9 after 9 /09" arrived today, and I have been thumbing through it. It seems like an almost altogether different book than the red edition, or else I forgot a lot of what I had read. "Imagine" is lettered out in the pre-fix! Like, page v or something. Billy seems to like that word. Comments will be coming later. As always, I find it fascinating, but yipes! he thinks highly of himself! I'm biting my tongue for now.
