Well, I'm hosting this party on my palatial estate, I will demand/expect that DOC will be performing at this event.....I would rather have a pianist than the 100 pc Polka Band that "polkas" the entire Beatles' catalog...After all, Beatle music has to be performed, and the Indian Smoke Signal Troupe will be doing the Beatles' medley on the musical rocks...so they are not going to be available for the next 3 years...they plan a state wide tour...they travel on a rennovated Connestoga Wagon and that's why it takes 3 years to tour the entire state.
Valis will be given the Presidential Suite at the Governor's Mansion...and that is quite an accomplishment!

Valis will be given the Presidential Suite at the Governor's Mansion...and that is quite an accomplishment! I never know WHERE I might turn up! hehehe Polka haunt us! Sadly, I put together an endless, 43 tune Beatles medley back in 2004. That show, well, there was no guitarist, so I am afraid perhaps we sounded a bit ragtime/cocktail lounge for the better part of it. I am planning ANOTHER Beatles medley for our February 2012 show; it will only feature songs from 1960 thru 1964, so we'll have to be very clever once again. Now, the Beatles production methods improved with every album, heck, maybe every song even. So, at least, the earlier days were more straightforward, but, hang it, we need a guitar and we won't have one then. Jeepers, I should have learned guitar! Maybe the bass player can do it and I'll resort to keyboard bass. Well, we'll see, won't we. I'll post a recording after we close the show. We must surpass our results from 2004 or I shall be quite sad. The Beatles really weren't ragtime or cocktail......

So we're all agreed that the party is at Lovely Rita's palatial estate? The Top 10 Greatest Songs of all Time (or not)www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_i1WwxD97QI just threw in the songs for the helluvit. These songs make a good case for themselves. Well, they all had a kind of "maximum impact" on people's lives, etc.

Ragtime Beatles....Cocktail Beatles....couldn't be any worse than MUZAK Beatles found in Dr's offices or elevators....but not quite to the level of the Kazoo Beatles...or the Jug Band...and let's not forget "Oompa" Beatles.... the ooompa version of Ob la di, Ob la da...well....words can't really describe 4 middle aged men in lederhosen performing Beatle songs at Oktoberfest....
DOC.....don't worry, we won't demand lederhosen as part of your dress code....Maybe if you come dressed as Mr. Spock...we'll confuse the folks and think they've missed the Valis Tour, and turned left at Alberquerkee and ended up at a Star Trek Convention.

What's that smell? ? Oh, wait a minute, the kitty just left another nugget in her litter box.... Sorry, let me get my senses back....how many different musical genres can create acceptable renditions of Beatles' music? We could take in quite a number of people attempting to perform Beatles' music...but...and this is a BIG BUT....how many actual types would be acceptable? Now that's something to consider...Classical but I believe that had been done....Country? Rap? Dixieland Band, oh, maybe that would be the same as Ragtime....Tibetan Gong Beatles...Japanese Stringed Beatles...and Yoko could sing the vocals... Okay, the fumes have affected my brain.....that and extensive intake of eggnog....may have contributed to the decline of mental function....give me some time to clear my mind....I'll get back to you with some more strange utterings....

life is what happens when you´re busy making other plans.
So I´ll be over the Atlantic next summer, but in Montreal. I fell in Love with a beautiful woman in Montreal, and she spend a week with melast week, and she is awesome.
So I´ll be in Montreal from late june till late september, and I can make it over to my PID homies in VT and NH but a whole USA tour has to wait.
Already one step closer though, seriously thinking about settling in Montreal but now having to figure out how.
I Love You

Aaah, you've found love. How great....so we can understand the limitations to a full US Tour....however, DOC may consider doing a tour in his lederhosen performing Lounge Beatlemania....
While many of us will not be able to do the VT NH thing, for those who can...well that's great for you all....
If there's a will, there's a way...perhaps once you've settled in Montreal, perhaps there will be a time you can visit points south of VT for a Beatlefest...or whatever....Happy for ya....
Best wishes for a happy union...

Well now Lovely Rita, Pa. isn't really all that far from NH/VT, so I propose that you and I drive up to meet the newlyweds(?) at JoJo's cafe. Whaddya say? You can bring the cake. I'll hitch up the cats, and we'll make it in nine lives, or so, I reckon. Montreal (brrr!)Joni Mitchell - Night In The City www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_NnNIW7aRc

Is DOC heading north for this union? I say Doc needs to share his blessing by performing at the reception....but for the sake of all the citizens of Montreal, leave the lederhosen at home.....LOLOL Don't know if Montreal is ready for cocktail/oompa Beatles....
Years ago, when taking a BUS trip to Montreal, there was a place called" the Dungeon", where actors and singers performed in full costume like they did centuries ago in medieval times, in a basement, and eating food like people did in those days, being entertained with jesters and minstrels...you only had a knife to eat with...
Maybe the place is still there and Doc and some of the other talented Paul is Replaced folks can serve as jesters and minstrels.... Poor DOC, we are really making some strange musical arrangements for your career ain't we? From lederhosen to jesting ...
Sorry Valis...we're planning you're wedding reception.....and you haven't even been to Montreal yet...

Sorry Valis...we're planning you're wedding reception.....and you haven't even been to Montreal yet... I had been, from January 1975 until June of 2011, crazy, insane busy in my "craft" or talent or whatever the heck it is supposed to be. Considering the relative "thinness" of things in the last 6-7- months, I now honestly consider both lederhosen(spelling?) and jesting as exciting, provocative new directions...... When is the Montreal affair slated to begin? If I am to play, I may keep it all standards with, mayhaps, bits of Barry Manilow and Neil Diamond thrown in. Until......after I have had enough Bloody Mary's, and THEN I will launch full steam ahead into Cocktail/Rag/Boogie/Liberace arrangements of every Beatle's song in the book. Yes, I own the book. Sing along and put dollars (Canadian only) in my brandy snifter. And Valis, congratulations to you, sir!

That's not owning the book. Haven't you had enough Bloody Maries yet, Doc? Well, true enough, I don't own, "THE" book. I do have a purchased volume of the Beatles Fake Book that cost me a smooth $29.95 back in '05 or so. Or was it $39.95? So, I have, in fact, merely "a" book. I am not sure, though, I could ever comprehend exactly what "owning the book" might entail..... So, I will merely continue to flip through the pages and create my own spontaneous arrangements of brilliant worlds of song. I'll be inTONE-ing the book.

To make this the first even closely ontopic post of the past few years I make, the new girlfriend of one of my best friends was watching a Macca DVD with him and noticed that that wasn't the real Paul...that friend then send his girlfriend to talk with me Have an amazing 2012 my friends!

DOC, performing Barry Mannilow in a jester's costume...or lederhosen...or was that a dazzling tuxedo along the vein of Liberace...well, not LIberace's vein...but the candlelabra...or, perhaps come out as Liberace with the glittering robe, and then underneath, have the lederhosen.....oh, that may appear to be a striptease.....for those in the audience who dare...perhaps toss extra $$ into your hat....
I am wondering if "POLKA Ragtime Hip Hop" is another style to be considered for the Beatle catalog....Hmmmm.
