Always had it - becoming thinner from heavy drug abuse didn't help of course but he always had a narrow bony nose with wide nostrils.
JMO of course.

I always thought that it was just a result of becoming so thin as he got older, he lost all that "youth" fat. Drugs also change a person's apearance maybe he snorted some coke in the 70's?Well bloody hell, plastic Paul already said this!

One of the many reasons we love John Lennon...

"Findadeath.com friend Kevin Hassell sends this bit of info: I work in a gas station, and I listen to classic rock a lot when I'm working inside the store. Anyway, one day Imagine was playing as one of my regulars came in. Upon hearing the song, he told me a very interesting story about Mr. Lennon. It seems that the customer had a cousin who worked as a masseuse for John and Yoko when they lived in New York in the Seventies. One of her jobs was to massage John's nose five or six times a day. The reason for this was that John's nose was so badly damaged by excessive cocaine use, that he constantly needed it to be massaged! I don't think this is a made up story, as I can't see what my customer would get out of making a story like that up. I thought you would be very interested to hear this new info about one of the greatest musicians that ever lived! - Very interesting, Kevin. Thank you very much."

I'm going through a book that lists articles and books written about the Beatles and they have photocopies of fanzine covers I have never seen before. The more I look at the post-'66 John photos, the more I'm convinced John was replaced. The nose massage story doesn't seem plausible because J(F)ohn was worth millions and could have had any drug damage surgically repaired. This, no doubt, has been discussed, but the fact that Paul filmed the RAIN/PAPERBACK WRITER video with a broken tooth is significant, too, because he could have had the tooth repaired and didn't.

Two are flying, two are not. This has been mentioned concerning pepper. What's the meaning? I figured it might mean two have gone (flying), but two have stayed. Or the opposite is the same. Two are still operational (flying), two aren't. Same difference. If so, (and that's a big if) - is it JL along with JPM? There are shots of pre 66 and post of John that say he's the same. But, on the other hand when you think of john as the full face john from earlier pics -after '66 he sure looks drawn and skinnier that's for sure. True, others have noted and commented on this but they have figured it's John being really stressed for whatever reason.
Others have thought ringo or geo were gone (along with JPM). Maybe, but to me their looks are basically consistent pre-post '66.
The different hair, glasses, clothes, etc, was a master stroke really. All look different. But they're the Beatles, the same lads we all know. And so any that might be different are just swept along and grouped together with that thought and perception.
It certainly might be the same ol' John. A detailed pic analysis would probably help. I believe he had a mole or something on his forehead that can be seen later. If pics could be found of earlier John with his hair off forehead, it could be seen whether it's there or not in those. Comparative shots of ears, etc. can help determine alot.

Hey, Ramone, I think the hardest thing to replicate with John Lennon would be his way with words. Although, I have read that "personality transference" is possible now, like everything else. So who knows anymore.

Writing behind the scenes would be a thought to explore, too.

Jasmene Bleeth ruined her nose with coke and looks like she hasn't had it repaired I doubt it will look the same after such an operation thus one would also claim he was replaced if he indeed had an operation to repair his nose.

You mean this pinched nose? You can assume what's overlapping over John..

Take a look at a youtube find, "The Beatles: Rare Footage from 1966 (part 1) at: www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4ziHJQh7PYThe John discussing the Phillipines trip is Fohn (esp. 2:35-2:37). The John at the American press conference is John. (6:13-6:17, esp. 6:13-6:17.) Drugs do not explain the pinched-unpinched noses.

It's difficult to compare the samples that you suggested due to the angles, but... ...here's a capture from 2:35.......................................................and here's one from 6:15. I think that they're the same guy, incidentally.

I agree. For no other reason than imagining the two noses in the position in each photo.

He had that "pinched" nose as early as '67. Then it was basically the same up until his death.

Cocaine doesn't cause a "pinched" looking nose. It causes the septum to erode and, eventually, get holes in it and then the bridge of the nose collapses. Basically, the exact opposite of what you see happen to the nose(s) of the people identified as "John Lennon" over the years.
Edit: It may or may not be worth mentioning that good blow doesn't really do much damage. Bad blow is stepped on with all kinds of caustic garbage. The highs (and resultant obnoxious monologuing) are minimally different, but the nasal shredding and 'day after downs' experienced from shitty coke and absent entirely from a clean cut are notable. It also makes good coke a lot more dangerous.
Public Service Announcement: To find out if you have crap dope or not, rub some across the back of your hand. Clean coke will disappear almost entirely into your skin. Anything that's left in clumps on your skin is what the powder was cut with. Life is too short to do bad blow!
