Alas, just my speed. I could give the Shoney's dude some apparel tips. Wear your duds baggier, and resort to more grays and browns, and dull navy blues. Sandals, wife-beaters, and shorts that cut the leg at the EXACT wrong place really enhance the effect. But DON'T get me started. Here we go: www.notfoolinganybody.com/schmindex.htmlI love these. And HALF of them are in Atlanta! Oh, yes! In fact, this one: www.notfoolinganybody.com/78laferia/ this one: www.notfoolinganybody.com/84basketrabbit/ this one: www.notfoolinganybody.com/51englandpiano/and even this one: www.notfoolinganybody.com/79donpollo/are all less than a full mile from where I live! What rapture! I can WALK to each one! Oh, the scenic delight of it all! Isn't that exciting! WHAT a wonderful, prestigious neighborhood I have chosen to reside in! Can you believe it? I can't! and this one isn't far by car: www.notfoolinganybody.com/97budget/I can't believe my luck! What bliss! What joy! What extravagance! What a toney sensation! And does this mean that our economy is turning to crap? NO! It means that we Americans simply can't get enough crap to eat! BTW, the piano place, England Piano, made enough money that about 2 years ago they moved into fancy digs here, proven at last, that there IS life, after the Waffle House! www.englandpiano.com/Atlanta.htmlBut they ain't foolin' anybody. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's a great piano store and all that, and they do great business and they're honest. I used to walk in all the time and jam on a Yamaha or two just for fun, before they sold me one. But never forget: "You can take the piano player out of the waffle joint, but you can never take the waffle joint OUT of the piano player......". or-something like that. Sadly.

Ask Doc about taking the waffle out of the piano player...He would know all about that.
I know what you mean about restaurants that took over the building of a former fast food chain, and you can tell what it was by the leftover architecture. As if the remodelers couldn't figure out how to create something to either cover up, or remove the Pizza Huttish roof, etc. But low budget rennovations may not have that as part of their allowance for makeovers...
Maybe they need a diner makeover show...like they have for homes...
