Yeah, okay, so I'm channel surfing and I stop and there's this disposable diaper commercial, and much to my dismay I hear "All you need is Luvs"..... Just a strange moment. All You Need Is Love was an anthem that represented a generation in a moment in time of turmoil and upheaval in our culture. It was a song that we who were alive at that time associated with the biggest band in the world, and it meant alot to alot of people. It was a theme or anthem for a generation and to hear it used for a throw away diaper ad just irritated me. "Hello Good bye" as a jungle for Target stores is one disturbing thing, but not as much as this hit me. A song for a generation reduced to a pooey diaper commerical.... Bad...

I don't see what the problem is. The idea behind the song -- and generation that the song is associated with -- both bear a remarkable resemblance to that which diapers are designed to hold.

Jimmy was pretty darn good. Wonder what he thought of the generation.

The part that offends me most about both the Target and Luvs commercials is that the renditions are HORRIBLE renditions, not to mention bastardizations of great songs.

Well, now that you mention adult diapers...perhaps the generation lost in space and associated with the Love generation of the 1960's are about in the age group that have "bladder troubles"! As for the "load of crap"...what is, that the Beatles music represented a generation of people, or just a play on words? Wednesday morning at 5 oclock as the day begins quickly putting on a pair of depends in case she doesn't make to the bathroom door.... She....we tried to have her room near the john is leaving....we gave her the chance to go first the room....we gave her all the depends we could buy.... something inside that was somehow denied for so many years... she needs her luvs...bye bye

There seems to be a lot of talk about diapers these days, I wonder why...? Now, for a news story about diapers and politics not mixing, please go here! Politician Sorry He Said He Would Try On Diaper

And the Hello Goodbye Target Comercial, Like I alraedy said somebody is selling beatles songs left n right why isn't faul up n in arms the way he was with Nike comercial? Did MJ sell the songs back to faul? Yeah, okay, so I'm channel surfing and I stop and there's this disposable diaper commercial, and much to my dismay I hear "All you need is Luvs"..... Politician says he would try on diaper....Hmmmm why would that be? Perhaps the folks at the masonic lodge threatened to shorten his political career? I didn't click on the link....this is just a sad comment on our true political system. Diapers....diapers....diapers...so much talk about them...why? Perhaps we are a nation "on the run" and we get so busy and caught up doing "things" that we don't even make it to the "john" on time...that we need to have a little help from "depends" just in case..... that and our bodies are wearing out from all of the junk food that it can no longer function as we once had.... all this talk about bodies failing, aging and the need of returning to the "diaper"....Luvs is all we need because it's all we have left....

LR. That link was basically about seniors in elderly homes and how they're not being taken proper care of. The politician is Health Care Minister George Smitherman. He was asked about seniors in homes not being properly cared for and what about their dignity? His response was that things weren't so bad, and to prove it, he'd put on a diaper... like, duh! Politicians are weird. Anyhoo.. people were outraged, and he's since apologised. It takes a nation of diaper wearers to make a village... slogan for our times..
