JoJo, I'm now inspired to purchase a laptop. Anything I too can do to help the economy! ;D
...
Actually, I am also in the market for a laptop - JoJo anything in particular you're looking at?
...
I myself can't help but be intrigued by the new MacBook Air. Pretty frickin' cool! And expensive...

JoJo wrote: "I heard about Paul being replaced (but NOT dead, believe it or not..) when I was eight, from someone visiting us from NY, a kid a few years older than me. Told us all that the guy on Pepper was a fake, that Paul was in an accident, and that the Let It Be Paul was the real deal back from a long recovery. (I don't know how the WA/Abbey Road Paul figured into this scenario)
So you see kids, there was word of mouth long before the internet, and it may have even been a bit more fun.
Of course I heard about the Paul is dead story not long after, and I wanted to play the WA backwards.. I was forbidden to do so, something about "messing up the needle". So...I waited until everyone went to bed. (the needle was fine)
Just some reminiscences for ya."
Interesting, that; how FATE works. The whole shootin' match when you were a figure of 8. ;D

Hey Happy Belated Birthday, I've had a busy weekend at work and missed the actual day.
You're catching up to me, I'll be 47 in May....
Time marches on......unfortunately, for some, all over their faces....leaving little crow's feet.
Not that you are one of those unfortunate sons...mind you..
But you are the chiefest of chiefs in this forum...among forums....
You are da man!

I know, what a typical lazy American! ;D I'd like a Macbook, but they start at $1200 I believe, so a Windows machine at half the price suits the purpose. My advice is to shop your favorite big box store and find the cheapest that isn't too slow and under performing. But, if you can afford a Mac, by all means go for it, you can boot to Windows (now) anyway if that a concern.

So we'll see what the love of my life says when I come with one! ;D ... (She's the one fire I've had trouble with... )

I'm thinking I must be a bit of a masochist, this Windows Vista is absolute torture! Fireman, forget what I said, do NOT under ANY circumstances buy a computer with Windows (esp Vista) installed! youtube.com/watch?v=VuqZ8AqmLPY

Restocking fee, and I'm in the middle of salvaging my sanity by wiping Vista and installing XP.. I can live with XP, for the most part.

Yeah my parents just bought a new PC, I tried it when I was at their house....
I really don't like this Vista stuff at all. I'm just not used to it I guess. The computer itself is nice though, with a really big screen, but Vista just made it so hard for me to do simple things like look at my schedule for Japanese class. I had to go through all sorts of stuff to get it to type in Japanese.
I thought about "acquiring" the full version of Microsoft Word and putting that on it, but I was afraid that Micro$oft could have put better security into the PC or something... Like illegal software detectors or something.

Vista is just more safer than XP... and hey! if you don't like aero, you can turn it off! go back to windows 2000 mode
