and as for vista: yeah.. it sucks at the beginning, but that was also with XP.. Vista is just more safer than XP... and hey! if you don't like aero, you can turn it off! go back to windows 2000 mode Well.. looks like going back to XP won't be easy, as the newest computers' hardware is not amenable to that, need to find the right drivers and such, just way more bullshit than I'm willing to go through. I took your advice Mike, I have to admit it helped considerably. I suppose I'll find out shortly which programs choke, luckily this computer won't be dealing with much hardware. And so... Microsoft wins..

hAPPY b dAY jO jO!
As far as your new PC is concerned, I think you made a wise choice. There is nothing worse than paying $2000/3000 for a mac that doesn't work, if you pc doesn't work so great you've only invested $300-600. As Iameye said (apple products need to be checked twice lol, hence the reason why they have an endless supply of "refurbished" items).
I'd be afraid I'd break the New macbook whatever its called. They need to look into making something durable. Remember thier orange, pink and blue laptops, they look like children's toys.
Apple ruined my life, I really hate Apple! I am truly convinced that that company is pure evil! If you all knew what I knew you'd ban Apple products too, I'm a spiritual person and I have to do it as a matter of heart, despite the fact that thier products are getting better!

or like, it was scratched, or somethin stupid....I LOVE APPLE www.smalldog.com/Apple Certified Refurbished According to Apple, "Apple Certified Refurbished Products are pre-owned Apple products that undergo Apple's stringent refurbishment process prior to being offered for sale. These products have been returned under Apple's Return and Refund Policies. While only some units are returned due to technical issues, all units undergo Apple's stringent quality refurbishment process. All Apple Certified Refurbished Products are covered by Apple's One-Year Limited Warranty. For extended coverage, you have the option of purchasing the AppleCare Protection Plan with your Apple Certified Refurbished Product. The AppleCare Protection Plan extends the complimentary coverage on your Apple Certified Refurbished Product to up to three years of world-class support." Apple also states that: "Each Apple Certified Refurbished Product is fully tested (including full burn-in testing), is refurbished with replacement parts for any defective modules identified in testing, is put through a thorough cleaning process and inspection, is repackaged (including appropriate manuals, cables, new boxes, etc.), includes the operating software originally shipped with the unit and the custom software offered with that system, is given a new refurbished part number and serial number, and is placed into a Final QA inspection prior to being added to sellable refurbished stock. Apple ruined your life Mindgames? I didn't think they had such powers, wow! Well perhaps you could explain..
Always had (and continue to do so) a Mac in the house, a few years ago I decided to get a Windows PC to accompany it, some software I really wanted to use was Windows only. Currently have an Intel Imac, started with the Mac Plus, a year after the "1984" commercial. It was like this, went into the college computer lab, had a choice between this cute little machine that used a "mouse" and was all visual and stuff... or use the command line interface of DOS. (no Windows yet, not even 3.1) Not a hard decision..
Sure they caught up with the GUI, and the laptops are cheaper, but I would still take a Macbook, if I was not trying to save the C-notes.
