Apparently, I sit around watching clips of my favoritestestest band. It doesn't work; it just leaves me turned on in seventeen thousand and one quarter ways. It's not that I'm not tired, because I'm physically exhausted. I've had a loooong, busy day and I came home completely weary and in need of sleep, made sure the TiVo was set, and went to bed. I couldn't fall asleep, so I just watched TV for pretty much ever, came on here, finished a book, and ate some popcorn. This is pretty much an every night thing, but it's getting out of hand because I'm going to have to be alert once I have to go back to college. I even force myself to get up really early so I can maybe fall asleep, but it never seems to work! Sleeping pills are probably a no-no, since my mother barely lets me take Tylenol unless I'm writhing in pain.
To make an unnecessarily long post short, what do you to when your mind won't let you sleep?

Let me answer this when my mind is not in the gutter!
I have this problem because I work on sets and the hours change and thier often long hours and often all nighters, even though I am tired my mind is to active to sleep so I come here:) if I really want to force myself, I play solitaire or whatch a movie in bed on computer, or read the Bible and I ususally can't last more than an hour before drifting to sleep. Or I tell myself I am going to go to the gym then all of a sudden I am ready to sleep.

E-hobagging is probably against rules... or at least ethics. Shut up, CoconutFudge! I am so going to try playing solitaire now. Maybe I'll even "spice it up" by playing SPIDER solitaire. Oooh. Dear God I am boring if that's spicing something up!

Maybe playing a CD of someone who is boring like Yanni or some other music they used to meditate....
Not that I use these methods...but perhaps something like that may lull you to sleep.

Oh man, Yanni is probably just going to make me giggle! ;D Thanks for the thoughts, LR. I'll try something relaxing like that tonight.

You can imagine Fabio trying to do Shakespeare
David Hasselhoff doing anything....
Counting the times Brittney, Paris, Lindsay or Nicole have been mentioned on tv that day!
Barry Mannilow is quite boring...

Watch Intervention. ;D jkz
Well, I had that problem for the longest time, and I've just noticed that since I got the computer fixed, and spend an avg of 12 hours a day on it, I sleep like a baby again.... far better than falling asleep in front of the TV, when that happens you can't sleep after...
Also, you might find the cooler the room is, the better you'll sleep. As long as you are warm enough under the sheets- the cool air will make you sleep better believe it or not. For this reason, I leave the a/c on even when I don't really need it... of course, I would open a window, but people scale balconies like monkeys around here, I can't risk it... that would be another reason not to sleep lmao.
Warm milk really does work, but you have to bring it into the room with you, drink it down and lie down right away.
Spraying lavender on your pillow is supposed to help also.
Hope you resolve that, I was losing my mind...

Thanks for the suggestions! You all are wonderful, wonderful people. If it keeps up, Girl, I'll lose my mind, too. I can't afford that, as there isn't much mind there in the first place!
