For people who are posting pictures, Can you please post them, whenever possible, in a way that doesn't stretch the page horizontally? What happens when the page is stretched is that then, to read the text, one has to keep scrolling back and forth, line after line, and it's a royal pain in the ass!

I agree. I will try to be better about that. I have found that sometimes it happens anyway. I have no idea what it is that causes that. Jo, do you know

Yes, it's because a picture with a lot of pixels in the horizontal pushes everything on the thread off to the side, and as a consequence the automatic word wrap gets forced off to the far end as well. I have a wide screen monitor on my Mac, but with a 17" monitor and a screen resolution of 1024X768 pixels, (my other computer) a pic posted with a width of 725 pixels or less fits comfortably within a post and doesn't screw up the text. My policy has always been to give a link for anything bigger than that. Here's an example of a 725 pixel width: If that causes a problem, then you need to bump up your resolution. I'm not going to change my policy, and here's why: This size is a nice compromise between being too big for posting and too small to be of any use, especially with how we like to examine these matters so closely. I did have a script installed to size down the big pics, I took it off when I was troubleshooting something.. Perhaps I'll put it back.

That fits perfectly on my screen, but anything larger, or pictures adjoined to it horizontally, is too much. If I go to a screen setting that allows more to show by shrinking everything, I nearly go blind trying to see things.

OK, we're in agreement then. I don't know why pictures set aside each other would do that, as what usually happens is they drop under each other, just my experience, your mileage may vary. Anyway, I put back the thing that caps widths, a little generous at 800 pixels, but should be enough to stop the back and forth business. (It does annoy me as well) While we're on the subject, really LONG URL's have the same effect, so if you have a link that runs on forever, change it to a tiny one with: Tinyurl www.tinyurl.com
