www.thefabfaux.com/fauxstory.phpThis Beatle tribute sounds like this could be down right amazin' to catch live. It was formed by a member of Conan O'Brians band & a member of Paul Shafers band on Letterman. They don't bother with the costumes etc.... the only emphasis is performing Beatle music as close to perfect as possible live. There's also an article in the new Rolling Stone with Hendrix on the cover. According to this article they played the White Album all the way thru.... including Rev 9! Now THAT woulda been cool! They brag about bein the only tribute band that doesn't play She Loves You or I Wanna Hold yer Hand... Anyway... this looked like something of interest... Ohhh... to have been at that "White Album" show.

Both bands are impressive. There seems to be alot of talented Beatles cover-acts out there. The Fab Faux specialize mainly on the later psychadelia songs, and the Return take care of the earlier years. It's good to see that people want to see them perform. The Return really do have the whole stage act down. Thanx to both Eyes' and Doc'!

Ya, the Fab Faux seem to be takin' a different road than any other tribute band.... not bothering with the costumes & all.
There's a lot of really good tribute bands out there. I saw Beatlemania Live a few years back & they were excellent. 3 costume changes.... Ed Sullivan period, then the Sgt.P uniforms, then the jeans & t-shirts & beards. But seein' the White Album, or Abbey Rd, or Sgt.P. performed live by Fab Faux in it's entirety would very cool.

Yeah, the Fab Faux I've been interested in, just because I'm a big fan of the Max Weinberg Seven.
The White Album the entire way through? Now that would be an awesome evening, and I couldn't imagine how they could replicate the hot mess that was Revolution 9.

Just finished listening to the stuff JoJo downloaded and these guys are absolutely amazing! They say on the show that they aren't trying to imitate the Beatles actual voices, but every nuisance of the music. You have to hear them. They are dead on! Plus, they mentioned in the Stern interview, that they will now start re-creating the solo years.www.thefabfaux.com/

I saw the Fab Faux perform; they were introduced by May Pang who said John Lennon would have liked them. They don't look like the Beatles but they have a left handed bass player. They are very competent musicians who do great simulations of Beatles songs, adding a live horn section and keyboard for pieces like Savoy Truffle and Lady Madonna. They run a recording of airplane engines for "Back In the U.S.S.R." A gigantic audience attended for their free concert.
Much less expensive and much better music than going to a concert of the Fabricated Faulscist perhaps?
