from Iamthebeatles.com, "Lennon's inspiration for the line "he blew his mind out in a car," came from the death of their Irish friend, Tara Browne. In truth, Browne did not kill himself as the song implies, but rather Browne was killed in a car accident on December 18, 1966. He had been driving his Lotus Elan on Redcliffe Gardens when a Volkswagen pulled out in front of him, causing him to swerve his car, striking a parked van. " the volkswagen!!! please post your thoughts

well they say that Brown died in a wreck with a volkswagen, but SK has pretty much proved that false, so maybe they're saying that the Beatle had something to do with Pauls death, hoping that people would see the inconsistancy and investigate

As in, the "Beetle" that was involved in an accident was really, a BEATLE?
The Beetle was Paul?

The Beetle was Paul? thats pretty cool Doc. i hadn't thought of it that way but it would make sense having this beetle car show up so much to symbolize the lost beatle.. and always a white beetle.. white generally thought of as a colour of purity.

Ok here is a pic from that movie where we can see the white VW and with the same plate of the Abbey Roads VW 28IF, and a summary of the film "Paul is dead" US PREMIERE - It's 1980 in a small town somewhere in Germany. Summer vacation has just started and the days seem long for Tobias, a raving Beatles fan. He is dreaming about having a band of his own together with his holder brother Till. But Till just started dating his first girlfriend and therefore has other things on his mind. One fine day a mysterious man appears in town driving a white VW beetle, apparently English with a steering wheel on the right hand side. Tobias is convinced that he has seen the license plate (28 IF) before. Going through his LPs he finds his suspicions confirmed, as it is the same beetle from the Abbey Road cover. His detective instincts aroused, he discovers a strange story originating from 1966 that Paul McCartney was killed and replaced with a double by his manager Brian Epstein. All the elements seem to match, and Tobias investigates the case, believing he has found Paul McCartney's killer.
Writer/Director: Hendrik Handloegten Producers: Stefan Arndt, Maria Köpf<br>Editor: Monica Smith DP: Florian Hoffmeisler Cast: Sebastian Schmidtke, Martin Reinhold, Vasko Scholz Directed by Hendrik Handloegten

Oops sorry eyesbleed!!! Are you going to try to find the whole movie? Ya, I'd like to, but after a very short check around here & there, I can see that PID is gonna be a VERY hard movie to find. But it'll be fun looking for it, regardless.

you're not going to believe this but you can download it from the internet. No that makes sense. IMDB sez it's not available in any format, anywhere.... so it makes sense somebody out there would put it out there for download. www.imdb.com/title/tt0232293/

SK posted a near the end shot (from the MMT movie) from high in the air of the MMT bus pulling away from or up to a Shell station. The Shell logo to this day involves a yellow field with writing on it.
The tag on the back of the VW is a yellow field with writing on it.
Yellow Submarine is, well, this same yellow color.
Is there anything up with yellow? Just a fleeting notion.........
