There was a Beatle girls special on TV.. it ran for about 3hrs.. i didn't see it, but my mum just called a little while ago to inform me she taped it for me Anyway she said when she turned to the channel she heard something strange that caught her attention, someone was being interviewed, a friend of Yoko's and he said "She was told to go after him" ... what the crap does that mean.. she was told?!? That strikes me as very odd indeed.. has anyone seen it? She didn't get that bit on tape unfortunately as she had only just turned it on... i would really love to see that. weird!

Very interesting PL. Are you in the UK? I don't think anything like this was scheduled to run in the US. It would be great if you could get a copy to some of us researchers in the US.
I read somethiong a few months ago that someone in the UK was preparing a special about "Beatle bastards." I don't know if that turned into this special , or if there's still a bastard special in the pipeline somewhere.

Sounds pretty intriguing PL. Well what Sir Paul said once was that Yoko came by her house one day looking to sell her art. Howard Stern (the interviewer) said you just let her in, to which he replied well I just let anyone in in those days. Anyway, he "sent her to John", saying he thought he would be interested.
What to make of this? It does at least make Yoko's claim that she had "no idea" John was famous/A Beatle seem a little suspect. Was Bill making this up? Mmm I don't think so, JMO.

I'm in Australia.. gonna call up the station and ask when they are going to replay it, and i'll make i record it all. What to make of this? It does at least make Yoko's claim that she had "no idea" John was famous/A Beatle seem a little suspect. that has always made me laugh... like she had no idea

Well, sometimes we filter some things out. I kinda missed several 90's pops groups--I could have met the Spice Girls and not know who they were at one point. (when they were "on top.")
(of the charts!)
Where are they now?

ok.. my mum bought the tape up for me and i watched it. It's missing the beginning so it starts from when john and yoko met. Interestingly Francie schwartz is one of the main people on the show being interviewed, and she said something that kinda stuck out like a sore thumb.. she was talking about when john and yoko moved in with faul after cynthia found out, and one day there was a typed letter on the table that said john and yoko, so they opened it and it said "you and your jap tart think your really hot shit don't ya?" and faul walked in and said he wrote it as a lark and thought it was funny and Francie said "I can still remember the look on John's face, it was like.. do i even know who you are?" She also talked about Jane, cause she was living with Faul whilst he and Jane were engaged.
May Pang was also interviewed and she had some interesting stuff to say about Yoko. She talked about how Yoko told her that she and John weren't happy and he's going to start seeing other girls, and Yoko set her up with him. Then she said it was John's idea to move to LA or wherever they went, and Yoko would call between 5-20 times a day, and John couldn't stand it. She said that John was the happiest she had seen him since she had known him. Then one day John said he was going to see Yoko cause she knew someone who would help him quit smoking, so he went and was gone for 3 days, she would call Dakota and Yoko wouldn't let him speak to her. Then she said that Yoko put the fear back into him, told him he would get deported if he didn't stay with her and scared him back into the relationship. Then she said a few weeks later she called Yoko and said are you happy now? you've got him back, and yoko said no, i'll never be happy.

Thanks for the summary PL. I remember that business about May Pang from the Fred Seaman book I believe, something like you said, he underwent hypnosis, then suddenly John and May were done, he wouldn't speak to her anymore, etc.
The other business is rather nasty on Bill's part if it's true. One other thing Francie claimed is that during the WA sessions, Bill saw her come in and yelled: "Juden Rouse!" (Jews out) But anyway, bad as that sounds, it's just her recollection of course, and she's not seen as the most reliable source.

Yeah, that sounds like what I've read in Francie's posts on USENET and in May Pang's book. Anything else of interest in there? Sounds like a more informative piece than most of the stuff available about BEATLES on video.
It would be great if you could find a way to digitize it. Or just get JoJo a copy, he seems to be the best at manipulating media for us!

i wouldn't have a clue how to put it on the computer.. best i could do is send you a dvd copy in the post, and you can do all that fancy computerish stuff I think it's being replayed soon though.. that way i can record the whole show cause there is at least an hour and a half missing. But being holidays at the moment no-one is working so i'll call them next week and find out.

An interview with Francie from Beatlefan, interesting that she claims "Hey Jude" was about her. Hmm that's not real out there actually. John, regarding a possible Paul solo album: "We were going to call it Paul McCartney goes too far.." Of course the "Paul" she always knew must have been Bill, if her recollections are correct.
