From Bill's Driving Rain cd, here's the video. I'm a fan of this cd as I've said before, and this one of the best songs. Firstly just enjoy it, but secondly, I find that maybe there is some symbology here, you have to make your own determination. but we have Bill in a classic red convertible, driving past a hitckhiker holding a sign that says "lonely". He leans back in his seat all the way so as to not even see her. Other women appear in the video, is one of them Heather, I'm not sure. Something interesting may be going on here, who knows.. Otherwise, consider this a Bill appreciation thread. www.jojoplace.org/Shoebox/Lonely_Road.wmv

Hard to say if the song was commentary on his lonely life after Linda or something about Paul.
I did notice he was barefoot though.

Wow... something my computer actually let me watch... it's a miracle.
Good observation, Wings... there was a lot of focus on those feet... that, plus the destruction of what looks like Paul's guitar... hmmm...

OMG. That's one of my fave's on DR.....I love the sound of that tune. And the video is nothing short of-----remarkable, astonishing. A lot of SFX to create the Dali-esque imagery---thought it really ISN'T Dali at all, so I guess it's the style of the director and Sir Paul, perhaps it's really more "Macca-esque", it has it's own connectivity to the thru line. It's a dream, no it's trans-dimensionalism, no, it's spirit time. Not sure, it isn't like a drug thing at all, the charactor (Paul) is clear headed and wide eyed thru-out. It's more like when the inner child inside a mature person opens its eyes anew----and finds itself the prisoner of compelling enchantment, and relinquishes all the childish resistance and rediscovers the trust and innocence of one's youth. Or something like that. As if the very fabric of material life molds itself into the guide of someone's life, or, if you will, for some, God. God co-opting into the enviroment (or, for some, Wisdom or even the "Cosmos") and pulling you through space, time, and matter to teach you about Spirit. Or, something like that. My philosophy card expired last month; I skipped out on my dues, and the only way they'll let me reinstate is if I thouroughly re-Kant.

OK, that song really cooks at that tempo/groove whatevah.......the band alwayd cooks. Drummer has all de' right stuff. The whole band, too, of course, but he really lays it down where there can be no arguing about the pocket and like, where it is at , 'cause, like, it IS right there. What a pack of crazy people. Having a good time. Ah luvzit. OK, does he have the best videoographer/edit crew or what? Oh, hmmmm, right...........What a dull life he, Heather, and the crew must lead. lol

I thought in the chorus he might be singing to the real Paul if he is a double.
I hear your music and its driving me wild Familiar rhythms in a different style I hear your music and its driving me wild Again ohhh....

Almost sounds like a song to Michael "Lonely Teardrops" Jackson and their years together. He certainly doesn't want Michael (and his ways) to take him down. Their first time around was enough.
