I want to know some things about PID
Who came up with, deduced, or found out the name William Campbell?
Who decided the death date, or pinpointed it?
Who decided that the man in the white album with the glasses is the imposter and not just JPM?
Who came up with the idea to find the 1ONE1xhedie thing?
Why did john say "another clue for you all" in 68 when the rumors wherent found out until 69? Was PID already starting? Or did John start it?
Maybe the Beatles really where subverting our youth, just like the walrus and the carpenter?

"Why did John say "another clue for you all" in 68 when the rumors wherent found out until 69? Was PID already starting? Or did John start it?"
Perhaps he did, with that line.
"Maybe the Beatles really where subverting our youth, just like the walrus and the carpenter?"
"Subverting OUR youth?" No more than Tommy Dorsey and Harry James subverted "our youth" in the 1940s. I think what may be most significant about "The Walrus and the Carpenter" was that there were four (oysters), then four more; then more and more and more - ("Featles").
"Who came up with the idea to find the 1ONE1xhedie thing?"
An insider who knew, no doubt. Good luck trying to track that one down.
Who decided the death date, or pinpointed it?
Sun King. ;D Total Information might be able to help you with that one.

The song Glass Onion has always bothered me. I also wondered why John said that in the song. It's been theorized that John was poking fun at the insiders who were watching their every move. I myself don't see that. I think that John might have been testing his boundaries. I think that he got away with that clue, because PID was not in existence yet. Once it became known, that clue was determined to be very important. The same thing with " I buried Paul" at the end of Strawberry Fields Forever. It's been changed in later editions to try to blur it & make it less noticeable. However, I have listened to outtakes of the making of " Strawberry Fields Forever " and you can hear John saying " I Buried Paul " very clearly. If I remember correctly, he repeats it twice.

His executioners decided the death date.
Hope this helps.

Actually, PID may have began as early as Nov 1st 1966 - 8 days before the supposed death date! Why? Because it was actually earlier?
The rumours were flying around for two ro three years before they "officially" came to light. Supposedly, PID began with a DJ in 1969 but that was a lie - a set up to perpetuate the idea of it being a hoax.

Paul did die earlier than that. I'm pretty certain that he died sometime after Sept. 19th, 1966. That is the supposed date of the Melody Maker Music Award ceremony that Paul attended with Ringo. I believe that DJ was serious about PID. He was either threatened or bought off to change his story !

Well actually, the one who did the research to really nail it down was someone writing here.. LINKI've had a friend check out the music papers archive in Manchester Library for me. The date on the Sept 13 picture is the date that Melody Maker was published, not the date of the awards ceremony. The magazine simply alluded to "last weekend's awards", meaning it could have been on Fri 9th, Sat 10th, Sunday 11th. Hope that clears that one up. And another related thread regarding when it was "coming up in conversation" you might say..

Well, at least now we have a better idea when the Melody Music Maker photos were taken.
I also agree that the man in those photos looks to be Paul.

And who knows if Paul was present on the 9th or the 10th or the 11th. It's likely he just attended for one night. The Beatles were in high demand back then and had busy schedules.
