Now I am being serious....... I never see Faul promote Catcher but if he did, I would believe him to be part of thise grand scheme that I just cant seem to get the full view of........ I understand that MDC supposedly shot lennon to promote the book....... I understand that WHATSHISNAME that attempted to kill Reagan was an avid reader....... (BTW, I sometimes think the Reagan thing was a fraud.... That it was perposely set up by Reagan and co. To either promote the book or demote it, I am not sure which. You may ask why I think this, It is because... Reagan was a republican and looking back... The economy was crap those days, and it seems like republicans would be the ones who hated lennon..... So why kill lennon, a liberal, and then attempt to kill one of your own? It doesnt add up) And anyway, I was watching a vid on www.johnlennon.com for one of his songs, and it showed the title page from C in the R with blood soaking through it....... This may be to denote it, but actually it makes me want to see what the book is about, so in fact Yoko could be trying to publicize it.... Finally, the band Green Day's lead singer... Billie Joe Armstrong loves the book and based their current hit album American Idiot around the story of C in the R...... What I am getting at here is that each of these facts points in other directions....... Should we read the book? or is that what we are not supposed to do? I just dont get it........ BTW, anyone here read it? Have you had the urge to kill any famous people lately?

Some authors take you to another place, a good historical novel will make you fel like you are in the time and place, a good horror novel will make you feel like the monster is breathing down your neck, etc.
Catcher in the Rye is a borefest, I don't get how it would mind control anyone...(just my opinion) Big clue: it's required reading in many high school american lit. classes. Anyone remember being inspired by anything from that time in their lives? (one exception for me: "A Brave New World", in English lit.)

I also was required to read it in English Lit. I felt the same way that JoJo did, it bored me to tears

One theory says that Catcher in the Rye is used as a calling card by a black-ops government agency to let others in power know when they're responsible for a hit.
I doubt there's any merit in that, but it's something to mull over.

Is the author a member of the illuminati? Something written with that in mind, to control minds, like Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland...both authors were illuminists.

That's a good question, Rita.

He's supposed to have links to the US intelligence community. Not sure if there's anything solid to back that up but I'll have a search.
