OK, my two cents. One of the things I never really understood of the PID theory is this: Why should anybody cover Pauls' death? I can't think of any reason that makes that a valid option and not faking also other celebrities' like Elvis, Hendrix, Morrison and so on. Bussines? Come on, do you think the sales of Elvis have decreased because of his death? Death sells ! Sad but true !

Thats very true but what if it wasn't just as simple as a cute singer dying?.. What if the purpose of the beatles was not just as a pop band? what if most of what we have been told about the beatles history is a forgery? could they have been groomed for a purpose other than just to sing? then their would have been a reason to replace him.... nothing is real

And, to carry Spanky's line of thinking further, it could have been the immediate, almost violent, global fame and success which elevated the Beatles' use to a whole different purpose.
In other words, nobody before them had generated the fame, success, and outpouring of raw emotion. That could have unfortunately signaled they were "the designated ones" to factions unknown, for as yet unrevealed duplicitous purposes.
Before the global, historic Beatlemania, the band existed just like anyother...to make music and money. Private business, guv.

Hmmmm...so are we suggesting that the Beatles were some kind of global sociological experiment in human behavior? That's an interesting angle, but to what end? I mean, the same thing could be said about Elvis because he had girls screaming, fainting, and wetting themselves too, just not to the scale the Beatles did...but there was only ONE of him and FOUR of the Beatles ;D
One very significant thing the Beatles accomplished was making Brian Epstein a very wealthy man. But in the end he fell prey to depression and died a lonely death.

I mean, the same thing could be said about Elvis because he had girls screaming, fainting, and wetting themselves too, just not to the scale the Beatles did...but there was only ONE of him and FOUR of the Beatles ;D Yeah, you're getting warm. I guess what I'm trying to relate is a two-fold observation: -The unprescedented global success and popularity elevated the Beatles beyond any social/psychological movement. Even the band themselves didn't expect the positive emotional response and identification to them, let alone their groundbreaking musical status. Therefore, hypothetically (or not) they were immediately recognized as impacting the world beyond mere 'business' or 'fad' catagorization. Therefore, the medium can be the message...and the message can be in the medium. -The Beatles almost instantly commanded and shaped social mores, attitudes, perceptions, and culture. They did not follow. They created and changed EVERYTHING with a broad sweep of their technicolor paint brush, as it were. One would think that those whose serious business it was (and is) to control and/or manipulate society and culture and mass psychology would view the Beatles as ...the most powerful mass medium vehicle in modern history. One cannot buy the genuine ability to make the world fascinated with you, and emulate you. That intangible power and talent has to be genuine. To the power brokers...they were the most valuable commodity in the world. Consider the implications. Consider this: the Beatles are acknowledged as greatly influencing EVERY FACET of pop/contemporty culture. What would our alternate reality be, RIGHT NOW TODAY, had the Beatles had only one or two single hits, then faded away. SOMETHING ELSE would have filled the void, and we would have a totally different, alternate history today.....
