While the original PID Hoax album clues, both visual and audio, are great fun and interesting, I think that Paul cannot be 'secretly' dead and seemlessly, silently replaced for one simple fact: Human Nature.
Yes, human nature dictates to me that SOMEONE would have been privvy to seeing or hearing SOMETHING, and, going for the big bucks that disclosure would surely bring, would have officially come forward long before now.
I have always said, one of the ambulance orderlies who put "dead Paul" in a body bag, or a nurse who saw the famous Beatle attended to at the hospital....would have passed the stories down to their children, and surely come forward for their 15 minutes of Warhol fame.
None have.
I have always discoursed that it would have been some 'lower-level' person, like one of Paul's maids at Cavendish Ave. or a third-chair sound engineer at the studio, who, if they had been witness to SOMETHING/ANYTHING, would have written a book or sung to the press already.
Human nature tells me anyone who had information, had Paul really died or been killed and replaced. would have come forward, if not out of greed to sell the story.
No conspiracy can be contained successfully, and perpetually. Therefore, considering the grand scale on which this conspiracy and cover-up would have entailed, I have concluded for myself that Paul didn't die in 1966 and wasn't replaced.
HOWEVER- I am inclined to personally believe something is amiss in general with our Mr. McCharmly, but not along the lines of PID. Stay tuned.

I can only agree with your point.

Well Ian, your point of view is sharable; the only doubt that I have is this; how many possibility were able to have, in 1966, a nurses or other persons to tell that they have seen dead Paul in hospital, and to be believed.

I agree with Ian, though. I think that's probably the weakest point of the whole theory.
Too many people being kept silent.

Well Ian, your point of view is sharable; the only doubt that I have is this; how many possibility were able to have, in 1966, a nurses or other persons to tell that they have seen dead Paul in hospital, and to be believed. Being believed is merely an aside; none have come forward with ANY claims or supposid information of an evidentary nature. Remember, my logic here is 'human nature'; had some talented unknown been paid handsomely to lay down some vocal tracks in the style of Paul McCartney, human nature tells me it wouldn't have taken too many years before said person was crowing it from the rooftops, in hopes of getting their own career going. In contrast, low-level hospital attendents who were witness to unethical behavior of a cover-up nature at JFK's autopsy were directly threatened with physical harm, prison, and worse to keep quiet....yet, before a decade had passed, these everyday people came forward of their own volition to tell their tale. So as said before, logic dictates some policeman present at a crime scene of a dead Paul, or some studio nobody who overheard talk of a 'Faul' and witnessed Mcca imitation vocals, some cleaning maid at Cavendish Ave. would have observed a 'Faul' being coached and put in place in Mcca's home. Yet none have told --nor sold-- their tale. Which leads me to believe that PID is an awesome urban legend of mythical proportions and bolstered by the "official" 'clues' we can decipher from the Beatles albums. Something IS strange in the Mcca sphere of influence, I am sure of. More on that will come out soon. But I personally discount the literal theory of Paul being dead and secretly, successfully replaced. Hell, in 1966 none of the four guys could spit a wad of chewing gum onto the sidewalk, or light up a cigarette without a dozen reporters and two dozen fans bearing witness.

[img src="http://galeon.hispavista.com/akostuff/img/Good-Post[1].gif"] I can only agree with your point. Thank you; I appreciate that. And, to clarify, I also am not saying honest investigation shouldn't be engaged. But, if you're gonna explore the PID theory, first forget, dismiss, and ignore everything seen and heard at 60if....for obvious reasons. Start from scratch.

My reaction as well----it seems difficult to believe that between G Martin, Geoff Emerick, or the other sound engineers, secretaries, and employees floating around that somebody wouldn't have said something eventually. Not even they said anything. Now, I have read where Paul fired his 2 housekeepers in late '66, he had been on holiday abroad. He came home, they were dismissed for selling onfo to an Aussie rag about his home. Mal Evens then becomes the live-in person at Cavendish. And, I saw where Brian Epstein fired his secretary, entered a sanotarium, and cancelled his other shows and what-not for a time in late 66. Now, of course, that is all plausible, and consistent with problems Brian experienced later that led to his demise in '67. But EMI has staff and lawyers etc. and surely they weren't out of the loop if anything out-of-the-ordinary were taking place? Not even they. And people the BEatles met at the BBC; then there is Richard Lester and ALL the film crew people he used, there is Peter Sellers, and the actors tha had been in Help that Lester used again in the Musketeer series etc. Not even Dudley Moore and his comic partner; the fledgling actors that later became part of Monty Python, they must have know Paul a bit----then there is Ed Sullivan--he was sharp enough to pick things out, yes? And also TV and radio interviewers, not even the Rolling Stones AND the Monkees made a comment and they were PRESENT at the "Day in the Life" video shoot/party/orchestra session. Mickey Dolenz and Mike Nesmith, who no doubt thouroughly digested the first 7 Beatle albums, woujld certainly have noticed something different about McCartney and the mood of the other 3, right? Not even Dylan for cryin' out loud! The people at Northern Songs, Blackwood Music, the orchestra players on the albums. NOt even the publishers had anything to say. And yes, NOT EVEN emergency attendants, a nurse, or at least a coroner or a mortician! No, no. And family members galore. And for criminies sake---not even Jane Asher. Nor Cynthia Lennon. And tour mangers and photographers and hair stylists----- But, no, nobody ever said anything. Maybe there was nothing to say. Not even papa Jim. Not even Eric Burdon. Or they're all packed in the dungeon!!! (Eddie Izzard could SO do a stand-up routine on that image!) Maybe the explanation is PR anomalies. Although, I've heard the "Face on Mars" called an anomaly. a-nomaly: "Anomaly" comes from the Greek word "anomalos," which means "uneven" or "irregular." "Anomalos" comes from the prefix "a-" (meaning "not") and the word "homalos" (meaning "even"). (From the University of Miami Scholl of Medicine web-site) Not even? Not even..................!

Though I don't necessarily believe in the whole "alien ship crashed at Roswell" thing, there've been witnesses who were told to keep silent about that who came forward decades later and who weren't believed, either -- and that one's more implausible.

Following this thread's basis and logic, let's consider of ALL the known and unknown players and characters within the Beatles sphere of influence, that none have so much as intimitated a 'switch' for Paul, THEN factor in how many of them have fallen on hard, lean financial times between the 60's and now; yet no one has attempted to make lucrative, easy cash by making claims...even unsubstantiated claims!
NOTHING!
NADA!
ZIP!
ZILCH!
So therefore, from a humanistic point of view, the scenario is very compelling that (sorry PID lobbyists) Paul did not meet his gruesome end and the greatest band in history did not utilize an imposter. (Now, take heart brave suspicious Beatles fans) BUT SOMETHING IS STILL ROTTEN IN DENMARK, to coin a phrase...
