You might find this of interest......
In Philip Norman's "Shout," the girls outside of Paul's house observed Jane walk out on Paul after she cought him with Francie. They saw her mother drive up and carry away Jane's possessions she had there (she had LOTS of things.)
The next day, one of the girls reported, she say Paul and Jane again in Hyde Park, "holding hands and eating ice lollies" (popsicles, I guess.) That says something interesting, as they had no official reason to stay together.
Also the song "Billy and Sally" seems to be about Paul and Jane. Interesting that Paul is called Billy.....

All the world's indeed a stage. The Asher-Francie altercation was scripted for the media and the Apple scruffs. Jane and fauxPAUL were acting.
Think WWF. Miss Elizabeth and Macho Man can hit each other on stage one day and fool around in the park the next.

Yes I agree with this. What better way to end this relationship than to stage something. The public would have trouble accepting that Paul and Jane just "broke up". It needed to be something drastic.
