I found this on amazon and it's Publisher's Weekly review on Cynthia Lennon's book titles John. It might be worth a purchase.
"From Publishers Weekly There's a lot of cruelty (his) and bitterness (hers) in this book by the late Beatle's first wife and mother of his elder son, Julian Lennon. A rehash of the Beatles' beginnings from the wife's point of view, the book reveals that Lennon was a pretty messed-up guy who preached universal love for the world and ignored his own family. Saddest, of course, is the effect of all this on Julian, who writes the introduction and praises Mum for her courage and love. Three marriages later, though, Cynthia still burns with anger—mostly at Yoko Ono, whom she believes brainwashed John. When asked if she was sorry she'd fallen in love with the singer-songwriter in the first place, she writes, "If I'd known as a teenager what falling for John Lennon would lead to, I would have turned round right then and walked away." If only she had let him be. (Oct.) Copyright © Reed Business Information, a division of Reed Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved. "

I scanned through it at the bookstore when the hardback came out. I didn't find anythign groundbreaking, btu i may have missedkey bits. Certainly nothing too revelatory about 1966.
Like some of the other recent books, i was surpried at the simple mistakes made about when something was recorded, etc....
Maybe the best source for yoko brainwashing john is the end of may pang's book...

I have Cynthia's book, JOHN. It was given to me by a good friend. She also bought a copy of it for SMA, so that we three could read it together. We were supposed to do the book club thing. Read the book & then have three way conversations concerning it. That never happened. 1st off, I can't get into it. The early stuff is interesting enough. Once she hits 1965 & later, I know that she's lying through her teeth. I can't sit & read outright, blatant lies. She blames John's fall into an acid induced haze on Brian's death in 1967. I'm sure what really happened was John fell into an acid induced haze at Paul & Brian's demise in late 1966. She can't say that of course. I guess if she wants to write about her experiences, she's going to have to be creative about certain events. The last thing she wants to do is take on The Powers That Be ( whatever/whoever they are ).
