[/img]
yeah...I know who that first pic belongs to amazing how "one" person tracks down things, spends money to obtain them; then they turn up all over the internet too bad I didn't have someone to "five-finger-discount" off of

xpt, what are you saying Cheers, Umang xpt's just pointing out that the pic is from a magazine she paid for & took the time to scan & post. I've also spent the time & money to obtain other vintage publications & would likewise recognize a scan from one of my magazines if I saw it somewhere else other than here or jamespaulmccartney.org. But to answer the question.... yes it looks like a different guy to me. The magazine pic with the French actress & the cover photo of the Family Album really jump out at ya & make it obvious to me that it's not all the same guy.

.gif"] Anyway,"cheerful one", I am constantly amazed at how some (numerous) people are too lazy to do their own legwork. And I think it's hilarious for someone to take something I own and present it on this forum (after debuting at Larry's for pats on the back, of course) as "PIA evidence".

I can tell the difference between JPM & Bill most of the time, but the M4E crew are good a coming up with pics that make it hard to tell the difference between the 2. This bunch of pics obviously wasn't put together for the purpose of testing any of us, or it woulda been a lot harder.

I think the way PIAers miss the differences is by focusing on one thing at a time, like the eyes or ears. It's when you look at the faces as a whole that you can better see the overall differences in facial structure and proportions. Even fades tend to hide it.

Here's the link, xpt. www.jedimaster.netI know what you mean... but have mercy on those who haven't got a clue... forgive them, for they know not what they do... Yes and no. I am an artiste as well, so I covet copyright as much as the next person... HOWEVER... I DO think that a lot is blown way out of proportion when it comes to copying images that is just not fair. Hmmm, I used to have a web page where I had a LOT to say about this issue, because I had a very bad experience once with a childhood friend I had just gotten back in touch with, who was trying to promote her CD. I emailed her to ask if I could put her pic on my website, and when I didn't hear from her in 3 weeks, I ASSuMEd it was cool. She finally wrote back threatening to sue me six ways to Sunday. She was PISSED! And I was pissed that she was pissed! And we used to be best friends, so I didn't think it would be such a big deal. Needless to say, her career is dead in the water... poetic justice.. Fortunately for the artistically challenged, some of the best art on the web is created by some of the most gracious artists, such as Jonathan Earl Bowser, Josephine Wall, etc., who are more than willing to share as long as credit is respected. They are so well-known, and yet even their terms are violated all over the place. I am sure Eyesbleed also would not appreciate seeing his fine art turning up everywhere without so much as a credit or a link back to his site, nor would anyone expect him to. But I have been known to say, that there are ways to protect your pics from being copied if that is your desire, and that it's a bit like locking your door when you leave the house... it's your responsibility. Well, yes, at that time I was furious, and that's just not the way it works. But posting your private stuff on the most public place in the world is almost like hanging your crotchless underwear out on the line and having your neighbors snickering as they walk by. I guess in the end, it depends on what you want to do with the pic. If you want to use it, check, check, check... if for the most part it's going to rot on your hard drive, well that's another story. I had a friend that I worked with for a year who was in a band, and yes I've got every one of his pics, and you'd have to kill me to get 'em... hehe... fortunately they don't mind. But on boards like this, it would be impossible to run around seeking permission for everything before posting... do the same rules apply here? In theory, I suppose, but in practice, well... ?? If so, we probably wouldn't have to look far to find violations...

...on boards like this, it would be impossible to run around seeking permission for everything before posting... in general, Girl, you're absolutely right. (And I certainly don't claim to own the copyright to those items -- I give source and date for all of them posted in our JPM section here.) But the "violators" are always the same handful of people, who've circled the boards (60IF/TKIN, Larry's, and here) for a couple of years, and know exactly where this stuff came from. (BTW, glad karma caught up with your musical "friend". Who needs "friends" like that?! )

I am sure Eyesbleed also would not appreciate seeing his fine art turning up everywhere without so much as a credit or a link back to his site, nor would anyone expect him to. True.... but I chose to put my paintings up in a way that anybody can grab an image & save it to their computer. Then they can make their own prints, or whatever. There are ways to put watermarks in the images, or you can fix it where nobody can click-n-save, but I didn't think those options would help matters any in my case. The more my stuff gets out there, the better! Somebody just recently brought it to my attention concerning a bootleg "Sparks" cd with my Sparks painting as the cover... no credit... but my work is unique enough that people now recognize it anyway. That's cool. I'm actually more flattered than pissed, so whatever. Hell, it's a crappy bootleg, so it wouldn't make much money anyway.

LOL I guess I was guilty of that from time to time as a newbie, I was so green, I had no clue how illegal it was... and it wasn't so much I intended to steal, I just had a bad habit of not renaming the file or remembering where I got it from... I just figured, free publicity for the artist, and hey, if right click wasn't meant to be used, why is it here? Then I began to teach myself basic html and found that creating webpages rocked my world... the frustrated artist in me felt sooo "creative". Unfortunately, my artistic talent ends with words and music- I can't even draw a straight line. I've since learned a bit about manipulating images, and once I knew how, and how touchy most people are about their stuff, I started "making" my own. Seriously- nothing like alienating your fans before your career even gets off the ground- especially those who only thought they were doing you a favor- baaaad move... Now, see, if more artists thought this way, the www would be a better and happier place... you're right, it is flattering, and it does help get you known... great attitude, EB... a true artist keeps an open mind...

If cheerful one is a pun on cheers and how I'm putting smilies in my posts, it is because I hate getting angry over things. As far as your's is used and people being too lazy to do their own legwork, I agree with you!!!! I'm just saying, however, that it is fair game, not that it's right to use your stuff!!! Cheers, Umang

The gradual fades allow the viewer to mentally gloss over the differences. It's better when you can see both photos at the same time to analyze them.

Just simply being myself! I am a man who prefers the ordinary, everyday things. Truly! I experience the same joys and the same trials that many people do. AHA! I thought so. I knew it all along!
