found something by accident actually..
John's cousin Stan Parkes, who lives in Ayrshire, said that John "From the age of nine, John had enjoyed family holidays in Durness, in the Highlands. When he met Paul, he'd still visit the area regularly and tell Paul about the beautiful scenery and what a great time he'd had there. The Highland croft belonged to my stepfather and John loved the wildness of the place. That's why Paul eventually decided to buy his farm near Campbeltown. It was John who convinced him to buy in Scotland by telling him about his family holidays there."
the article then goes onto say: In December 1964, Paul announced plans to marry Jane and around this time he bought his farm near Campbeltown as a retreat. Secretary Anne Leith, 50, of Campbeltown, recalls Paul and Jane visiting the town in 1965. The mum-of-one recalls: "He drove into the town with Jane Asher in an Aston Martin and I wrote the registration number on my science book. That was my claim to fame."
