LATEST: Rock legend SIR PAUL McCARTNEY's former publicist GEOFF BAKER has accused the ex-BEATLE of making him mentally unstable before firing him.
The 62-year-old superstar sparked a war of words with Baker by posting a letter on his second wife HEATHER MILLS' website, claiming he sacked Baker last year (04) because he was becoming increasingly unstable, not, as many reports claim, because Mills told him to distance himself from Baker.
McCartney writes, "The actual truth, which I had been trying to spare him the embarrassment of going public with, was that he had gradually been getting more and more unstable over the past few years.
"I tried to let him down gently but it was my decision alone to let him go as I didn't want that kind of instability around me. It was nothing whatsoever to do with Heather."
But Baker responded to the allegation yesterday (06FEB05) saying, "If I'm unstable, maybe that's because somebody had driven me to that."
Making reference to the ongoing feud between McCartney and JOHN LENNON's widow YOKO ONO, he added, "I don't want to say anymore because I have no intention of becoming Paul's new Yoko." 07/02/2005 15:29

Okay, I flipped thru yesterday's Daily Mail today, and finally clarified something. The first articles about the Baker/faux-Paul separation quoted Baker as saying he'd never write a tell-all book. But recent articles have been talking about his plans for a book.
It turns out that Baker is working on a fictionalized *novel* about a PR man in the high-pressure world of high celebrity. The title?
You Probably Think This Book is About You
Hmm. Wasn't it speculated here that Carly Simon's song "You're So Vain" may have been about faux-Paul?

I thought it was about Warren Beatty. [img src="http://galeon.hispavista.com/akostuff/img/Dunno2[1].gif"]
Here's another article about the book:
08/12/2004 - 17:42:22 Daily Record, UK
Paul McCartney's former aide is vowing to include explosive sex stories and shocking revelations in his forthcoming biography on the ex-Beatle.
Geoff Baker quit as the Hey Jude legend's publicity guru in September, amid reports he'd fallen out with McCartney and his wife Heather Mills.
And now Baker - who was one of McCartney's main confidantes for almost 20 years - is working on a tell-all book, which he hopes will surprise his legions of fans.
He says: "The book is coming along well and there's going to be a few surprises in it for some people. There's a lot of sex involved and a few buried secrets will be unearthed.
"It centres around the world of celebrity and what they get up to in private. There are bound to be a few raised eyebrows."
