"Paul" was talking with Dustin Hoffman some time in the early 70s. Dustin said something about the last words of Pablo Picasso, and Paul immediately sang: "Drink to me, drink to my health, you know I can't drink no more."
So many of you seem to think his songs were ghostwritten, this shows he has some songwriting talent!

He wrote plenty of good songs himself. We're not all listening enough to his solo CD's.
A lot of people co-write occasionally.

True Doc, and this would be a good time to plug Beatlesarama.com, an internet station that plays all Beatles related music. That also includes solo work, covers, Apple artists and 'british invasion" artists. Plenty of Sir Paul solo work I've never heard before. I dunno, I have to admit I like a lot of it, but here's the thing: small doses only! If I try to listen to a complete album I'm OK, but after a second one it becomes painful. It's like too much sugar in the coffee, a little bit is nice, but it gets to be too much after the second spoonful...
I have a theory about the writing, the heavily produced stuff like "Band on the Run" was the result of collaboration from unseen helping hands, (many I bet) but something like "Mull of Kintire" was just him alone.

He actually wrote most of his Wings songs with Denny Laine.
