What do Tom Cruise and Cameron Crowe know ? Probably what a lot of Hollywood people know, that Paul and Faul are two different people.

Thank you for your response. And hello DarkHorse. I'm from Thailand. Not many so many people here know about the things that happened to James Paul McCartney. I'll go spread the news.

That's an amazing still Darthfaul, thanks!
The original "Vanilla Sky" was the Spanish (?) version called "Open Your Eyes".. Just found it "out there", and can't wait to watch it, I remember now how they mentioned on a critics TV show how the original was THE ONE to see.

I never saw the original " Abre Los Ojos " too, JoJo. But they said it was better than the remake. However, Vanilla Sky is a very good film in my point of view. Cameron Crowe said (in "prelude to a dream") "...the goal was a movie filled with clues and signposts, kind of like the cover of Sgt. Pepper, every time you look at it you might see something different..." And Crowe himself asked Paul (Faul) to did a song for his movie. Paul (Faul) said he was excited to do this. (in an interview included in DVD)

Watched Open Your Eyes, wow, wow... It may be the case that Vanilla Sky is more about clues, but OYE just gives it to you nice and clear, no cryptic stuff. (I'll have to watch VS now to compare, shouldn't comment on a movie I haven't seen)
The protagonist is a young good looking guy who is involved in a string of one night stands, with a rule that he doesn't hook up with the same girl more than once. (he's rich too, which helps) Anyway, a woman that doesn't like this situation starts stalking him, following him around at parties, etc. She pulls up to him on the street in her red sports car, and against his better judgement, he gets in the car. She starts driving fast, and when they get to a sharp curve, she says something like "do you believe in God" and aims the car straight at the guardrail and off a cliff. (Oh btw Matrix fans, she's wearing a "red dress")After numerous unsuccessful plastic surgeries, he still is badly disfigured, and makes use of the only alternative they have left to offer, a rubber mask that resembles his face.
The reason I say it hits you over the head is that it's all revealed in the end, and not wanting to give it away, I'll just say that much like "The Matrix", nothing is real..
Finally, the part about the woman who crashed the car made me wonder.. She was angry about his cavalier attitude towards women, didn't want to be another notch if you will, and crashed the car they were in, even though it would mean her death most likely. Psycho yeah, but those types are out there.

DarthFaul, saw the American version, and yeah it's still a good movie. I think what people mean, or my take is that the Spanish version is more crystal clear about the meaning, and it's a lot "heavier". The outline is identical, but Vanilla Sky makes lengthy side trips into the lives of beautiful people, and the more serious parts lack the emotional tension between the characters that the Spanish version had.
The American version of course had the strengh of a more big budget visual presentation, right down to the dreamlike "vanilla sky". Similarly, the scene in the Cryogenics office where the "process" is explained painted a clearer picture of the reality he was living in.
Great movie, great music, and lots of stuff to look at frame by frame..

Here is the still from the video: As TI pointed out on another thread, this is a special feature, narrated by Cameron Crowe I assume. He makes another interesting statement: The goal was a movie filled with clues and signposts, kinda like the cover of Sgt. Pepper. Every time you look at it, you might see something differentFrom the Vanilla Sky Wiki entry: Crowe says that there are 428 references to pop culture made in the film — 429 if one made in error is included. Not from Mt. Olympus.. Hmm.

Thank you, Jo. That is the first I've heard of this. It's some very interesting stuff. I watched Vanilla Sky once. I found it very confusing. I guess that I should give it another try.

The word 'vanilla' is derived from 'vagina'. The vanilla plant is an orchid; the word 'orchid' comes from the Greek 'orchis', which means 'testicle'. The Latin word for ' sky' is ' caelum' (from which we get the word 'celestial'). And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.-j P.S. The Greek word 'ouranos' means both 'sky' and 'your anus'. ;D

Ouranos - (Greek mythology) god of the heavens; son and husband of Gaea and father of the Titans
Latin caelum means both 'the heavens' (from the same root as 'celestial'), and 'sculptor's chisel'the Graving Tool, the Sculptor's Chisel In Greek the sky is called ouranos, from orasthai, that is, from ' seeing,' from the fact that the air is clear and very pure for seeing through” . "The sky (De caelo): The sky (caelum) is so named because, like an engraved (caelatum) vessel, it has the lights of the stars pressed into it, just like engraved figures.
Hittin' the chisel and making a joint, gluing my fingers together. Lighting up the Sky with my message! (ingravings) Is it tomorrow yet?
