When I was reading through the DITL alternate video someone wrote "It's all too much" and I was reminded of George's song.
It's all too much for me to take The love that's shining all around you Everywhere, it's what you make For us to take, it's all too much...
The organ music sounds like something one would hear at a funeral.
While the story that goes with the song said it was a lovesong for Patti, some of the sounds and lyrics sound like it could also be a tribute, or a memorial...
And it was part of Yellow Submarine....

I think that George most likely wrote that about Paul's spirit. After all, George was very spiritually aware.

It certainly does have an eastern religious feel about it, as far as lyrics, though not musically or instrumentationally, like Within You, Without You, The Inner Light...etc...
Perhaps in George's "visions" he pictured JPM with an aura of love and/or light surrounding him. Maybe part of the fact the death and seeing him in a vision could have been "all too much" for him to take...
It's hard to say what George experienced exactly, but we know that the eastern beliefs, especially those of the people of India..Hinduism was something that piqued George's imagination. It must have been a source of peace and contentment for him as he carried those beliefs to his dying day.

Here are the lyrics in their entirety:
It's all too much, It's all too much
When I look into your eyes, your love is there for me And the more I go inside, the more there is to see
It's all too much for me to take The love that's shining all around you Everywhere, it's what you make For us to take, it's all too much
Floating down the stream of time, of life to life with me Makes no difference where you are or where you'd like to be
It's all too much for me to take The love that's shining all around here All the world's a birthday cake, So take a piece but not too much
Set me on a silver sun, for I know that I'm free Show me that I'm everywhere, and get me home for tea
It's all to much for me to see A love that's shining all around here The more I am, the less I know And what I do is all too much
It's all too much for me to take The love that's shining all around you Everywhere, it's what you make For us to take, it's all too much
It's too much.....It's too much
Too much too much too much (fade to end)
It appears to be a love song to God.

Found a couple trivia pieces about this song, one line is from The Mersey's song 'Sorrow'. With your long blonde hair and your eyes of blue..Here's a page with a picture of the cover of a single, as covered by David Bowie: LinkAnd, the trumpets were playing ' Prince of Denmark's March' for a bit. The preceding Wiki link states that they also used it at the end of All You Need Is Love. A midi file of the March: schubertpub.bizland.com/preview/ejh_prince.html

It appears to be a love song to God. Exactly. A practical explanation for a very practical musician who wrote practical songs. No hidden meanings; just love.
