I found this on Google:
"Two Beatles historians, William J. Dowlding (Beatles Songs) and H.V. Fulpen (The Beatles: An Illustrated Diary) have cited that McCartney did indeed get into some sort of automotive accident on November 9, 1966. According to them, the accident occurred on Wednesday morning at 5 a.m. Paul's brother, Michael McCartney, also alleged that Paul was involved in an accident that November, but contributed it to Paul's crashing his motorbike. This story was confirmed by McCartney biographer, Chris Salewicz, who had the following to say:
'Late in the year [November, 1966] Paul went up to stay at his father's house for a few days. A friend of both his and John's, Tara Browne, the heir to the Guinness fortune, was already at the house as a guest of Mike McCartney's. One evening, after smoking a joint, Paul and Tara decided to take out a pair of mopeds and ride over to visit a member of the Mac clan, Aunt Bett. Close to his aunt's home, Paul took a corner too fast and soared over the handlebars, landing on his face and badly cutting his upper lip. To minimize publicity, the family doctor was called and the wound was stiched up. The heavy mustache grown for the Sgt. Pepper's LP helped hide the scar until it healed properly." (Salewicz, p.183)
Many get this November motorbike accident confused with a prior motorbike mishap that year, in which Paul chipped his tooth and ended up looking like a crazed yokel for a brief period, as seen in the promotional-films for Paperback Writer and Rain. Still, one should not become side-tracked by this other crash: The November incident is the important one.' "
I didn't know there were TWO crashes. In both instances, it was late at night, near his father's house, and he fell on the same side of his face (getting a lip scar.) He had the scar in early 66......Maybe it's not a death clue, but it looks pretty wierd. Was he just a careless rider?
