:)I have been listening to Chaos and Creation a bunch lately, and, frankly, loving it as a whole. Good songs; well done. BUt, I am miffed. You see, because I am hearing, from all I can tell, IMO, the actual voice of James Paul McCartney on two or three tracks........ So.....like....James Paul McCartney IS alive?

I can't get enough of this cd. Amazin!
I'm not hearin' that at all, but you've got a much more finely tuned ear for that sorta thing than I do. My attention is usually drawn to the overall feel. What tracks are ya talkin' about?
This is a very special release in a lot of ways, & it is the first time he put JPM on the cover of a solo album. What's that supposed to mean.? Do you think they coulda done some studio work to lower the timbre of his voice a little, therefore makin' Bill's voice more JPMish??

Friends to Go, How Kind, and the Miami re-mix (?, are the BeeGees responsible for this?) of Fine LIne. But, is it a "fine blue line", as in a "thin blue line", or just an every day fine line? Hope I'm not crossing one......

I'm thinkin'.... this is the first release of his that's truely on a "beatlesque" level of quality. Actually I think it surpasses some later Beatle albums in a lot of ways.
It's got a beatles quality to it, it's got a 63 JPM on the cover, why not do a little extra work to copy that voice in spots?
Haven't heard the Miami remix yet, I guess I need to get around to that.

Okay, I just bought it today. Haven't listened to it, bu that's what tomorrow's for.
I haven't really been following the development of this album, so I was a bit surprised to see JPM on the cover. Also, take notice that the sketch of Sir Paul on the back doesn't have a face. Is this supposed to indicate that it's an amalgation of both Paul and Bill? That there's no specific McCartney to feature, as it's drawn from both of them?
I find it unlikely that there would be any leftover JPM material, as John would have seen fit to use it from '67 to '70, or Bill would have pulled from it by now. But maybe there is something to it, I don't know.

Wow.
This is just an awesome album. So much to absorb in it, but I believe there are several songs that have to deal with PID, or at least from Bill's perspective in acting as the replacement.
Ever notice how so many songs talk about a car driving through the rain? That's a reoccuring theme through a lot of Beatles/Sir Paul songs, but it's prevalent here.

Okay, I know this is a weird thing to bring up, but that first line drawing when you open the booklet... does it look like it's supposed to be an aged James Paul? The nose is in line with JPM's, not Bill's more slender, pointed one. It in no way looks like Bill, but what Paul would look like if he were 63 years old.
It just seems weird. Is this album Bill "becoming" Paul as best he can, delivering a home run for his legacy while he still can? Could Chaos and Creation in my Backyard be his apology for not, in his mind, not carrying the McCartney torch as high as he could for thirty years?

Of course, as men get older the voice inevitably gets a deeper bass sound, it really could be that William can nowadays summon up the JPM voice by himself sans tubes and filters. Yet, some tunes are very very Sir Paul, vocally and composition wise. A number of the tunes have that, well, early Paul quality to them. OK, maybe channeling? Nevermind, that idea always goes up in flames. Well, y'all figure it out and post the answer.

Well, y'all figure it out and post the answer. Ya but your the one with the fine-tuned professional ears! ;D I think this is the first time that he's really captured the true essence of JPM. But it wasn't all him, I think the producer guy had a lot to do with this. But they were completely successful. Kinda like Val Kilmer in the Doors movie. He sorta became Morrison for a little while.

Yes, there were shots in "The Doors" where I'd look at Kilmer and think, "Holey Shot-glasses, it's Jim!" And, how's this for being obtuse. As I listening to C&C at one point I thought, "OK, why am I hearing Paul McCartney on a new Paul McCartney record?" And then I thought, DocRob, how stupid......
Hey, speakin' of holey shotglasses, I can have a Bailey's in 5.5 hours. (At the end of my show.) Cool. I've been tapering off, and really have only had 2 in the last 3 weeks.
I am ready for my Bailey's, Max.

(which i can't understand, seeing as it's been officially out for three days, whatever) But it wasn't all him, I think the producer guy had a lot to do with this. Probably, I suspect Nigel shaped things in a way to get that JPM sound. Where Nigel is in the "loop" so to speak who knows of course.

Cool Eyesbleed, thanks! That, and the "man without the face" may mean I have to buy one at the store. Well, gotta have both versions for my collection, right?
His left ear (our right) makes me think of that thread with microscopic close ups of Paul's attached lobe, and Wings may have something with the nose, yeah.

The song: "Follow me"
at 1'06"
James Paul starts singing. It would seem.
Freaky.
He's alive.
I'm delirious.
The little van is outside even now.
Where did my marbles go?
So sad, someone like me disintegrating over what has to be a hoax. Well, somewhere there is a secret, or a hoax, or a mystery.
Well, I don't blame anybody but myself.
Oops, there's the door. I see thru the blinds that they've got the little nets and that white jacket thingie this time.
I'll let you know when I am released get home.

Freaky. He's alive. I'm delirious. The little van is outside even now. Where did my marbles go? Well, there's always been the possibility of only PWR bein' the correct assumption., but I'm still unchanged myself. 100% sure that PWR'ed.... & about 80% convinced of PID. We know Bill has always enjoyed leavin' little clues here & there. Who sez this isn't Bill goin' out of his way to sound more like JPM here & there. The music certainly does so why not the voice itself? Gonna piss Billy off! As soon as he hits one out of the ballpark everybody starts hollerin'.... "Paul MUST be back!!"
