Hah, very clever! A clue right under our noses! To go one step further on the drumskin, from of "Lone-Ly Hear-T-S" might we also sound out, "Lone Lie, Here It Is"?! We've always known Paul's grave was represented on the Sgt. Pepper album and that the flowers spelled out "Paul". But you're find only reinforces that discovery.

The famous grave, and the most infamous group of people attending this wake. Amazing find, right under our noses.

Hear = Here?
Nevertheless, good find

Of course I know that the correct word would have been 'here' not 'hear', you know? But I still think it fits regardless

It's a play on words and it fits with the drum logo. I think you have found something significant.

Slightly OT, but have y'all noticed the album cover pics at Beatles.com? Big difference in color intensity & sharpness. This Sgt.P pic is stunning..(& makes for some great wallpaper)

That very much reminds me of my fairly new CD copy of Pepper, very vivid, illuminous almost neon, yet my Picture Disc LP is much more naturally coloured.

That almost has a 3d affect. The band stands out with those colors.

Something puzzling, look at Edgar Allen Poe, then to his right there is Fred Astaire, and to his right, and artist by the name of "Richard Merkin".. Or is it? I have found an artist by that name, but he was born in 1938, making him 28-29 at the time the cover was done. This guy looks a lot older, and what I can't get out of my head..he looks like Hitler, who was supposedly "banned" from the Pepper cover. Maybe there is an obscure artist by that name and you need to really dig, but his resemblance to Hitler is quite striking. meaning of the name Richard: powerful ruler; brave one And a Merkin well..*ahem*.. Wiki has an interesting explanation..Mature subject matter, be forwarned. (I mean it) Great if you were in the wig making business back then, lol. ;D

Wiki has an interesting explanation..Mature subject matter, be forwarned. (I mean it) Great if you were in the wig making business back then, lol. ;D I've already posted about the hidden Hitlers that can be found on the cover, that Merkin-face (!) occured to me to be a Hitler candidate as I was scanning across the row, and the HG Wells face looks like Hitler in a profile view if you place a mirror next to him vertically. In the Sgt. Pepper CD booklet it shows a cut-out Hitler standing in a profile shot on the side of the shoot, looking toward the creation of the photo (something like the Japanese doll with a sword sitting and inspecting the garden in the lower part of the cover). [ftp]http://digilander.libero.it/jamespaul/sgt_pepper_cd_booklet.html[/ftp] "Merkin Muffley" is the character name of the AMERICAN PRESIDENT in Terry Southern's (he's on the cover below the Stockhausen-Hitler I discovered) script of the 1964 movie Dr. Strangelove whose title role is of a Nazi nuclear weapons scientist working for the USA and has a habit of calling the President Merkin "Mein Fuhrer." The character is based on the real-life Nazi war criminals and Holocaust perpetrators the U.S. actually did hire and protect after WW II. Richard Merkin ---"Dick Merkin" !! "Merkin" also sounds like they're making a satirical joke of the word "American." "There's Nazis in the bathroom just below the stairs." "She came in through the bathroom window, protected by a silver spoon ..." As you can see in my thread on Hitler's Liverpool/ American relatives and previous comments in other threads, there may be some Hitler/Nazi connections to the Beatles: they are certainly there to their home city of Liverpool and to the British and American governments staging the Beatles propaganda.
