Michael Moorcock Behold the Man, 1967 which tells the story of Karl Glogauer, a time-traveler who takes on the role of Christ. Prolific paperback writer. Same age, odd resemblance.

There's no transparent reason to believe that Michael Moorecock is Paul McCartney. This proposal irritates me, because why not say Michael Moorecock is Jack Nicholson, if wild speculation is the only basis for this suggestion? If you have something more tangible to offer as to why we should believe this is Paul McCartney, iameye, you might want to present it to us. Otherwise, this is just a wild goose chase. More on Moorecock, which leaves NO DOUBT that he's not McCartney: www.eclipse.co.uk/sweetdespise/moorcock/iameye obviously knows that this is not Paul McCartney, so the question I have is, what is iameye's motive in publishing this? To expose us all to his/her favorite author? iameye put this in the "Clues" section, so he/she seems to feel that there is a clue here. But he/she hasn't explained himself/herself sufficiently to make it worth our time to pursue this.

then I guess I'll just have fun by my self today. "The Book of the Week is The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle, a bizarre punk rock novel published by Virgin Records and written by science fiction and fantasy author Michael Moorcock. This original 1980 printing of The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle was issued in an unusual 11" x 14" format, like a tabloid newspaper. It was printed in connection with the film of the same title about the punk rock group the Sex Pistols, and contains multiple photos of Sid Vicious, Johnny Rotten, and the other Pistols. Michael Moorcock was one of the leading voices of the "New Wave" of science fiction in the 1960's and remains an important figure in the SF/F field to this day. But Moorcock was a musician even before finding success as an author, and he remained involved with the music industry for many years. He wrote several songs for Blue Oyster Cult and collaborated extensively with the band Hawkwind. The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle is supposedly a novelization of the film, which gave Sex Pistols manager Malcolm McLaren's skewed view of the punk rock phenomenon. Moorcock, however, was contemptuous of McLaren and took significant liberties with the book version, weaving the story into the ongoing chronicles of his own multifaceted recurring character Jerry Cornelius. After this tabloid edition, the book had a small print run in paperback, but remains probably the most obscure entry in Moorcock's Jerry Cornelius series." fantasticreviews.blogspot.com/2007/04/aarons-book-of-week-great-rock-n-roll.html

When Rolling Stone magazine first started, it was printed on this type of newspaper. Whoever released the book would have known that readers would likely see the similarities to the legendary rock magazine.

When you say 'this proposal irritates me' and 'wild goose chase' are you also referring to and including Ringo being the first to die and be replaced, JPM being locked up in a French prison, CrownedJoe knowing 'something', TKIN having valuable information, and the notion that every tune written by every artist after Sept 1966 was about PID/PWR?................And no I'm not saying that guy is JPM.

Oh really? The fact in pursuing EVERY lead, even if someone else's opinion differs, is a hallmark of a through investigation.
Unless of course you have some basis for following one path only, like PRW, or PID, or PI Jail, or P was abducted by aliens, whatever...........then perhaps you could recap your theory and basis of evidence of support?
In the mean time, I'll keep on the fringe unraveling this story. Mr Moorcock"s connection is more than surface level, but I can't force you to look deeper than you want to. What I see is a man undercover, hiding behind beards and bow ties, cowboy hats and written word. A man with a passion for avant guard metaphysical music and technology. A man with a strikingly familiar voice and face, considering IF said familiar man went off into hiding for some reason and wanted to adopt a new persona...........Plastic Paul, I may be right and I may be wrong, but I can't assume one or the other, even at this point.
