I am intrigued by The Beatles' use of code words in their lyrics. Take the word "tea" for example.
Cry Baby Cry: The duchess of Kircaldy always smiling and arriving late for tea. The duke was having problems with a message at the local bird and bee.
Here the duchess is always late for "tea," and the duke has problems with the birds and bees. Hmmmm.
Lovely Rita:May I inquire discreetly, "When are you free to take some tea with me?"
I can certainly think of a reason why an invitation to "tea" might be considered a "discreet" way of asking something.
All Together Now: A, B, C, D, can I bring my friend to tea? Black, white, green, red, can I take my friend to bed?
Anybody see a pattern emerging? There appears to be a correlation between the word "tea" and the idea of getting it on.
Which bring us to:
I Am The Walrus: Sitting on a cornflake waiting for the van to come. Corporation teashirt stupid bloody Tuesday man you've been a naughty boy you let your face grow long.
If "tea" means sex then we can get insights about what a couple other words might mean in code from the above lyric, and cross-correlate their code-meanings with lyrics from other songs in which those words appear, to verify that our definitions are correct.
Assuming that a code exists, from this we can build an entire vocabulary and decode their songs.
If no code exists, we should be able to learn that quickly enough as well.
Get it?

He may not have used superfluous words that are a foot long, but he did have a way to reach the common man tongue in cheek.
