I took Mike's Youtube version and edited (EQ and amplify) it to bring out the background vocals and filter out the cymbal a bit more. This version is a 21 meg wave file which has been segmented after Mike's original file on Youtube, repeated twice, first at 100% and then at 80%. The slower speed has a little flutter due to the compression of the initial file but still a good way to compare the vocals. www.4shared.com/file/140484504/62f122db/Mikes_Pepper_Reprise_Enhanced_segmented_variable_speeds.htmlListen closely at around :40 seconds in. Sounds like... "Paul is not a member of the band, he's really dead." or... "I am now a member of the band, he's really dead."

Interesting....
I gotta say, I didn't really hear much more than the unintelligible half yelling/half whining of Paul/Faul that I've heard before when trying to decipher it for myself - Until I got toward the very end of your clip.
At which point I did hear what sounded VERY MUCH like your alternative phrase offering:
"I am now a member of the band, he's really dead."
If you asked me to swear that that's the phrase that was being said, I could never do it, but it's the closest interpretation that I've seen presented at this point...
Not to mention, In my opinion, what is the clearest presentation of the clip that anyone has offered up for scrutiny.
Nice work! A job very well done, good friend. Thanks for sharing the fruits of your time and toil.

Thanks overdude, my pleasure. It barely took any time to throw it together.

Excellent! Heres what I can hear.
"Did you have a good time everybody? It wasnt really bad, All you got to do is place a mirror up to it baby. Thank you very much and good night love!"
I may be wrong, but maybe that can help us put a sentence together with what we discovered so far.
What a well planted message!

Sounds like Paul is excitedly singing something about a band. I hear 4 phrases that go something like this:
1 - heart is carry me 2 - really band ... 3 - I would like to have a little band, a little band for me 4 - make it in a first in band
in 3, the overlapping 'woo!' starts just before the 'for me' in 4, George sings along with 'band' in his patented harmonic way
Rather than try to read a death clue into this, maybe using the "excited mc shouting about a band" as the context, we could figure out exactly what he may be singing here. Once that is established, we could interpret why "Paul" might be so excited about this band, his "little band" that he would "like to have"
Keep in mind that some parts of what Paul is singing may be buried under the other singers' parts; we only hear Paul when they pause.
I don't hear Paul singing anything about death; John may very well have said something about "we killed them", but that's a showbiz thing about going over well with an audience, something a band member would definitely say to another after a successful live performance.
My two cents, pataphysical

My two cents, pataphysical actually, john is saying: oh, god this kills me.
