www.uv.mx/popularte/ingles/scriptphplen.php?&sid=368&len=InRead near end of article, especially where the paragraph starts : "Since Mexicans believe the dead return once a year." Talks about having a day of the dea, aparty for the dead once a year. Many custims and traditions are listed, including, leaving things around that the deceased had really liked, included toys, games, etc, even models of cars and trucks............. That candle on Sgt. Peppers is a Mexican Candlestick. And, then, there is the connection to Candle Stick Park. Did Paul fly home with the rest of the Beatles after that concert, or did he stay in the states and fly to Denver and points beyond with Mal, Brian, and others on a charter plane? DId they then go to Spain and Africa? If so, who was that that is photographed with Tom Jones and Ringo and Dusty at the Melody Maker Awards on Sept 12?. Were those awards held in London? How could he be in Denver and London at the same time? Did he go to London and then fly back to Denver later? Did Paul ever make it back from America? I mean, in between MMA and the safari? Was there press coverage of the Beatles arriving back in London after Candlestick Park? Well, it was the beginning of the jet set age. I guess I'd be restless after a strict tour schedule, too.

Interesting Doctor Robert, thanks! I can see a little bit of that, let's see, there's a portable TV, A soccer trophy, A french (?) horn, and is that a hooka pipe on the left under the wax George? And there's the dolls, another tradition it seems from looking this up and seeing some pics of the displays. Check these links out: www.mexonline.com/amigonews/00october.htmwww.mexico-child-link.org/day-of-the-dead-mexico/day-of-the-dead-mexico.htmWhere is the candle, is it to the right of the "S"? I wish i could find some precise day by day timeline of that period, but I'm coming up empty from the books I have and on the web.

Ya that's hooka pipe alright. John Ashcroft's silly side-show "Operation Pipedreams" might wanna look into this travesty! Anyway... back to the topic.... I think that's a Mexican candle between the S & the O shape at the end. It looks like a Mexican candle to me. Seems like there was a clearer pic of this posted on the other forum a while back The main day to celebrate Day Of The Dead around here & southward is Nov.1. You can get lots of cool stuff in Mexico, but Austin has lots of stuff goin' that day too. I'd mucho rathers fiesta in Austin than Mexico!

Another site that has more day of the dead information with items to bring to the offering: xrl.us/bwi4 (used a link shortener here, and translated from Spanish to English with Google) A friend of mine tells me that the small bunch of yellow flowers nearest the left edge about a quarter way from the bottom are called Cravo de defunto or "carnation of the dead" (defunct) A picture of the person is mentioned as part of the offering. Maybe the wax figure?

Good find, JoJo.
Interesting that it says there are the 3 levels (at least0. The sky is the highest, the "Imbo" (could that mean "limbo"?) and the lowest, Earth.
The Pepper cover has the painted blue backing flat, the crowd is on the bleachers (is this "Imbo"?) and the dirt garden in front is the Earth. Sky, Earth, limbo.
And momentos of things they used or help dear in life. A bass guitar, a soccer trophy. Di JP play soccer? (football)

A picture of the person is mentioned as part of the offering. Maybe the wax figure? well, the face on the candle has always looked like paul's to me. i need to find that clear pic that i have somewhere and post it. because if that's paul's face, according to what you say... well... a pic of the dead person... obvious, right?

It's hard to see, even with a good clear scan, and with a vintage vinyl album cover. The sharpness of something that small gets fuzzy, but I'll give it a try.
