I was watching the BBC news last night and i literally couldn't believe my ears....
This was the covering of the State visit by the King of Saudia Arabia....hosted by The Queen....and a poncey banquet ensued. (live on tv in real time)
Well as 'The Queen' was about to make her entrance the theme tune for Kubrick's final movie 'Eyes Wide Shut' began to play....Suite for Variety Stage Orchestra (Shostakovich).
This played for approx 40 or so seconds and then segued into the Uk National Anthem....as 'The Queen' made her entrance.

It's not the music that is the issue....but the content of Kubrick's final movie that makes this 'state' event all the mysterious.
Was this another example of 'prole' mocking.....hmmmmm?
This is the music below...from Youtube.

cheers JoJo....
Ideal for Hallowe'en...
The Ritual Scene....One of the girls is Nicole Kidman (Alice... Alice through the looking glass)
I've tried to find a copy of this news item (from BBC news 30th Oct circa 8-9pm)....for the purposes of demonstration....but cannot find one yet.
If anyone spots it (it did happen and I have a witness...honest guv ).....I would be eternally grateful.
Mr Burrell told the Daily Mirror newspaper that the Queen told him - "there are powers at work in this country about which we have no knowledge".

But Burrell's most intriguing disclosure was an account of the meeting with the Queen when he mentioned he would be keeping some of Diana's things. He said they talked for three hours, both standing, the Queen occasionally misting up as she recalled her former daughter-in-law. He claimed she told him, "Nobody, Paul, has been as close to a member of my family as you have. There are powers at work in this country about which we have no knowledge." Burrell said "she fixed me with her eye and made sure I knew she was being deadly serious. I had no idea who she was talking about. But she was clearly warning me to be vigilant." Buckingham Palace refused comment about the Queen's private conversation. But rival papers scorned Burrell's account as a fantasy, quoting Palace sources as saying the Queen doesn't even spend three hours with her husband.

The work was recorded by Riccardo Chailly conducting the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in 1991, and released as part of Shostakovich: The Jazz Album (Decca 33702). (The recording erroneously identifies the work as the Jazz Suite No. 2.) The order of movements on this recording is: March, Lyric Waltz, Dance 1, Waltz 1, Little Polka, Waltz 2, Dance 2, Finale. This recording of the Waltz 2 movement was employed on the soundtrack to the 1999 Stanley Kubrick film Eyes Wide Shut, as the opening and closing title theme.
