LovelyRita mentioned something about Bill doing JPM songs, or perhaps songs upon which JPM made his mark; Lucille is actually a Little Richard song, but JPM did the best cover ever. This is a back and forth between JPM very early in the Beatles, and Bill much later in his, with the Bill version going back and forth between him and Little Richard. www.jojoplace.org/Shoebox/Lucille_3_Versions.mp3

JPM did do the best cover of that song. But Im not suprised, he asked Little Richard for help in learning how to scream and sing like him when they met in Hamburg.

Is this the same guy? Why do I get the sense a lot of these 21st-century Motown acts are indeed just that -- acts?

That's a good question, T.I. The eyebrows are shaped differently. If it is indeed him, he appears to have undergone extensive plastic surgery & has had his skin color lightened.

Ever seen the Geico commercial with Little Richard? YoutubeI dunno, perhaps he goes to the same plastic surgeon as Joan Rivers, but he's supposed to 73 years old at this point.

While on the subject of Little Richard, the finale to Celebrity Duets is airing and there was an oldie medley sung by all the celebs who were singing. Well Little Richard was singing "Good Golly Miss Molly while playing piano, that's the real deal. Nobody could imitate that playing or singing. He may babble when talking about the singing, but when he sings, he sounds as good as he always did. Which surprises me, when watching oldies' singers try to sing now, they sound tired. But he can still do his "wooooooo".
Like JPM's woooooo, unique to them and no other.
