Which Christmas album had " Christmas Time is Here Again" on it ? I had a bootleg of that album. The cover was shiny white. I have an amusing anecdote about that record album. I went to see Amadeus on Broadway when it was there in the early 1980's. Mark Hamill portrayed Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. David Birney portrayed Antonio Salieri. At the same time as this, Return of the Jedi was playing at the theatre at the end of the block. It was a VERY big thing. So, I was a little star struck & I waited by the stage door to meet Mark Hamill in person. At the same time, I also met David Birney. I have to say from personal experience that Mark was somewhat snobby & standoffish. David, on the other hand, was a very genuine & warm human being. After meeting him, I developed a little crush on him. I met some people there, and we decided to meet again the next day to see if we could get to know the people in that play a little better. It became a weekend thing for me, until Amadeus left broadway. I honestly don't remember how many times I saw Amadeus. We became very friendly with the woman who played Constanza Mozart, although I'm embarrassed to say that I forget her name now. We also became friendly with the doorman, who let a few of us in backstage whenever we were there. I guess you could say that certain members of the cast "adopted" us as kind of mascots for the play. We had shirts made spelling We love Amadeus, or some such thing. We always got tickets within the 1st 3 rows orchestra, & we would wear the shirts & stand up at the beginning of the play so that everyone could see them. We used to go to the flower district a few hours before & buy dozens of different colored roses. Then, we ourselves would put together bunches of roses in the color combinations favored by the different actors. I think that Constanza loved white & yellow, so that is what we would give her. A dozen & 1/2 for each person. It was so much fun... We found a local artist & gave her photos that we had taken of Mark & David in costume. We paid her to paint portraits of Mark & David, and we arranged a presentation to give the portraits to them. David's wife Meredith Baxter Birney was there the day that we gave David his portrait. He was so very touched by what we did. He used to bring me backstage & show me around. He would meet me outside & send me to buy tea for him across the street. I will never, ever forget how kind he was to me. I have never met a sweeter person in my whole life. I felt devastated for him when his marriage to Meredith went sour. Since everyone else I hung around with was more into Mark than David, we did more for Mark. We even arranged to have a surprise birthday party for him across the street from the theatre. We hired a man in a gorilla suit for the occasion. Mark was delighted & very touched by it all. I know that we gave him presents. I think that's when I gave him my bootleg Beatle Christmas album. I had found out ahead of time that he was interested in Beatle collectibles. I did it to impress him. What can I say, that's what happens when you allow yourself to get carried away. Boy do I wish that I had that album back !

That sounds like an interesting thing you had going on. Although it seems peculiar Mark Hamill and Amadeus... It would be my misfortune if I went to a production of Amadeus, it would star Elmer Glickman as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart....of course that would be at the Cresson Lake Playhouse, in which the lake is more like a glorified swamp, and the Playhouse is a rennovated barn. And the town of Cresson has about 4 streets! Anyhow...here's the link for divine vinyls....it's quite bizarre, the album art....and the 1970's hairstyles and leisure suits.... www.purgatorio1.com/?cat=3

1967: RecordDoes this remind you of something else from 1967? Duh..... Look at the blue daisy, right under the green center is a Victorian lady, and then there is a face next to it, a little bigger face, and it looks like it could be an ancestor to JPM... IMO By the orange daisy is a military man...A relative of Sgt. Pepper? I enjoy these things to examine any possible clues or ditties.... One never knows what one digs up... Could someone rotate this pic so we could check out the folks who are upside down? I would appreciate it.

Boy do I wish that I had that album back ! Very interesting. Well, that was kind of all of you be so supportive and giving to them; actors in a long run of a hard show appreciate support like that for sure. Too bad about your bootleg record, but you did a nice thing; certainly Mark must enjoy having that in his collection. How interesting to hear that; he must love the Beatles, then. Wonder if he ever gave the Paul/dead/replaced rumors any credence? Odds gotta be a "no", but wouldn't that be something. I saw Amadeus on B'way just once, Phillip Pleasance I think was Salieri; Peter Firth was Mozart, and Amy Irving (love her!) was Constanza. I overheard many conversations around me of people who were likewise enchanted and mesmerized by this very fine play. I wish I could have seen the cast you speak of as well. Hey, I love it; for a time you were a "Stage Door Lili!" Hey, that's neat; there have been times I would have been a "Stage Door Doc" had I not always had a nighttime work schedule! If not for the crazy bonfires in the American South of all that great Beatle stuff back in 1966 (before whatever happened, happened), can you imagine how much vintage inventory would be in collectible's circulation today? eBay would have to host a separate Beatlemania website to manage it all. And that wouldn't be a bad thing.

Jo, don't I know that well. I used to listen to that album when I was a kid & shake my head in wonder. To me, they sounded like a bunch of lunatics. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what the hell happened to those men ! I remember that there was at least one drawn out song in which they all sounded totally f*cked up. I mean, they sounded like they were all drunk off of their asses ! If I remember the callbox bit, it went something like this: Emergency, emergency, there's been an emergency ! God, I wish I had that album back ! Doc, I don't know if Mark would give credence to PID or not. We surely could use someone like him as a staunch supporter ! You're so right about the effect that play had on people. Amy Irving as Constanza ? I would've loved to have seen that. "Stanzi Wanzi had a fit. Shit her stays & made them split. When they took away her skirt, Stanzi Wanzi 'et the dirt ! " HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!! Ahhhhh, that laugh. Mark was sure to get that part down pat ! ;D I have to be honest & say that David Birney "made" that production. He was the quintessential Salieri. When F. Murray Abraham got the part ( & the Oscar for it ), I was very upset for David. I've always felt that he deserved the opportunity to be in that movie. That Oscar should've gone to him. As far as being a "stage door lili ", that runs in the family. My dad spent a good portion of his youth outside the stagedoors on Broadway. He had at least 8 autograph books full of signatures of everyone who was anyone in the 1940's & 1950's. We sold them for a mere fraction of their worth. All because my mom made him do it ! AAARRRGGHHH !!!!! He also took many photographs, of the stars & starlets of that time. Joan Crawford asked him if he wanted to go to the west coast & be her personal photographer. The only problem was, he never got that letter. I found it unopened, when we were going through his things. He was shocked when he opened it & read it. He was only 18 years old when that letter was mailed to him. Who knows how different his life would've been had he gotten that letter at the time, & took her up on it I should scan some of his autographed photos & share them with everyone here. He has one from Joan Crawford that he had hanging in his room. Now it's in his closet ( my father passed on in April ). I should take it & hang it in my bedroom.

If you go to the divine vinyl section, the latest entry includes an album from Ringo titled "I Wanna Be Santa Claus" and the artwork has Ringo with a green complexion. Some things are just too hard to believe until you see it. Maybe Lili would want to sit on Santa Ringo's lap..... As for me, I'll pass.....

HELLO OPERATOR! I'VE BEEN CUT OFF! I-I-I'VE BEEN CUT OFF! IT'S EMERGENCY!" That someone new is Faul. What does he mean by " I've been cut off " ? CHRISTMAS TIME IS HERE AGAIN! -"THIRTY-TWO! HA! HA! HA! -"NEVER! HA! HA! HA!" -"WELL, YOU WON A PRICE! HA! HA! HA!" -"GET OFF THE SHOW! HA! HA! HA!" I find it interesting that they reprise this. They also made the same mistake again, writing price for prize. They're truly amazed that he's 32, since he looked much younger. He won the "prize" alright. -"THEY LIKE TO THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL YEAR." -"WE'D LIKE TO THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL YEAR." -"THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL YEAR." -"CARRY ON!" -"LOOK AFTER YOURSELF! HA! HA! HA!" -"COME IN!" AND CHRISTMAS TIME IS ALL, AND YOUR BONNIE CLAY US THROUGH. HAPPY BREASTLING TO YOU PEOPLE ALL OUR BEST FROM ME TO YOU. AND THE BEASTY BRANGOM BUTTON TO THE HEATHER AND LITTLE INN. AND BE STRATTENED OOT IN MATETHER TO YER ARMS ONCE BACK AGAIN. OCH AWAY, YE BONNIE. Can someone please translate this ?

Guess what ? I was recently contacted by my girlfriend, with whom I hung around with Mark Hamill. She is a very sweet person, and I'm glad that we've resumed our friendship. Yesterday, she sent me some photos that were taken of us at that time. For those who are interested, here we are in our heyday. These photos were taken around the time that Return ( Revenge ) of the Jedi was in the movie theatres. Enjoy ! The tall guy holding the camera is my hubby. At the time, we hadn't been going together all that long ! Gawd, were we ever that young ?! You can see that my friend is a Beatle fan also ! Mark Hamill holding a music box that we gave him for his birthday. I'm standing behind Mark in this photo. The album that he's holding is Live & Peace in Toronto. I gave it to him. Boy, do I regret that now. Me, Mark & the guy in the gorilla suit that I wrote about in my anecdote ! Mark & my friend. He's holding a Star Wars Return of the Jedi needlepoint that someone made for him ! Peace out !
