I beg to differ. How could George Harrison and John Lennon write songs as cheerful as "It's All Too Much" and "Baby You're a Rich Man"
Are you being sarcastic? It's All Too Much and Baby You're A Rich man were not exactly cheerful? But you're entitled to your opinion on moving on with their lives...but as for these songs seemed more reflective and John's sarcastic wit with Baby You're A Rich Man...
Just my opinion, not trying to cause some debate...
When I look into your eyes
Your love is there for me
And the more I look inside
The more there is to see
It's all too much for me to take
The love that's shining all around you
All the world is birthday cake
So take a piece but not too much
I'm not trying to start a debate either. There's wouldn't be anything to debate. The lyrics are a clever, sometimes funny take on human existence and love.
Baby you're a rich man
Baby you're a rich man
Baby you're a rich man too!
You keep all your money in a big
brown bag inside a zoo! What a thing
to do!
Sarcastic? Check. Witty? Check. Silly? Check.
Cheerful sounding and not depressing in the slightest?
Huge check.
I wasn't being sarcastic at all. I really mean it when I say I don't think the Beatles could have continued to write the type of songs they did had they not, to a certain extent, gotten over Paul's death. Did his death have any affect on their songwriting? Most likely, but they weren't so hung up about it that they looked miserable in their photos or anything. They would have been miserable anyway, all rock stars become miserable.
