Definitely Faul. Another question: is that a Fohn with him? Who knows?

or.....is it James Paul all done up in Hollywood prosthetics and make-up in order to LOOK like William.......el Switcheroonie style? What if it works BOTH ways? and........they doubled for EACH OTHER for a while? This a new twist; perhaps not an Oliver Twist, but maybe a twist with a lime, thank you very much. And salt the rim. Cuervo is fine.

Definitely Faul. Another question: is that a Fohn with him? Who knows? Could there be a Fohn? Has anybody considered that? A temporary, recurring Fohn who appears to stand in from time to time, with John always returning? As I watched Lennon on a Dick Cavett appearance (with Ms. Yoko) on the Dick Cavette show, I realized what a terrific survivor he was. I admire many of his personality traits; his outspokeness, his convictions, his insights, and humor. Although I came to this board because of the sad news of JPM, I see that as much as I mistakenly identified myself with him in certain, limited ways, I am in fact really nothing like him whatsoever. I am nothing like any of them, really, but I sense now I have a couple of things in common with John Lennon----mainly the enthusiasm for wordplay (though he did it better) and his narrow view of certain "establishments" ,er,.......... uhm, traditions. So, perhaps I actually do have just a little bit more in common with John Lennon that I had first realized.I mean, in some small way.

I've noticed a big difference in the style of the John Lennon drawings before and after 1966. Maybe we should also compare handwriting samples.

I think that there was a John double, for appearances' sake, but actually replaced, like Bill...that I'm not so sure about.
While the styles of music had changed since JPM's death, perhaps the style of art had changed as well. Sometimes the handwriting may have some small differences over the years, while there is something distinct about it that you know it's that one person.
Maybe with certain moods the handwriting, and art could be different. I know that for myself, if I'm in a hurry, my writing looks like scratching that I could only understand. When I have a more relaxed setting, I write differently. It also depends on when my hand and wrist may bother me with carpal tunnel problems, though not severe, it can act up at times.
I think there was a period in the late 60's that it doesn't look like the real John, and that may be when Charlie Brill, or some other "double" stood in. But in the later years, I think it was John, but just an older, frailer, worn out John. The grief, the depression and abuse to his body took it's toll.
As for Bill or Faul, there are pics that have been faultered that may cause one to wonder if it's JPM or Faul, but looking at how John looks in the first pic on this thread, definitely Faul.
The photo faultering is to make the obvious differences between JPM and Bill look less severe by taking some features of JPM and doctoring Bill pics.
Thank God that some of the original pictures, before the faultering occured still exist and have been published.

Doc posted: All I can say to that is YUM !!! I agree with LR. Yes, it's definitely Faul in the above photo. About John, I think that someone(s) stood in for him from time to time. I don't believe that he was permanently replaced. I do believe that it was John Winston Lennon who was gunned down in front of the Dakota in 1980.
