I suppose I'd believe his explanation that he was merely seeing rioting on the horizon in his crystal ball if he wasn't asking his listeners to "make it happen".. www.thedenverchannel.com/news/15980105/detail.htmlDENVER -- Talk show host Rush Limbaugh is sparking controversy again after he made comments calling for riots in Denver during the Democratic National Convention this summer.
He said the riots would ensure a Democrat is not elected as president, and his listeners have a responsibility to make sure it happens.
"Riots in Denver, the Democrat Convention would see to it that we don't elect Democrats," Limbaugh said during Wednesday's radio broadcast. He then went on to say that's the best thing that could happen to the country.
Limbaugh cited Al Sharpton, saying the Barack Obama supporter threatened to superdelegates that "there's going to be trouble" if the presidency is taken from Obama.
Several callers called in to the radio show to denounce Limbaugh's comments, when he later stated, "I am not inspiring or inciting riots, I am dreaming of riots in Denver."
Limbaugh said with massive riots in Denver, which he called "Operation Chaos," the people on the far left would look bad.
"There won't be riots at our convention," Limbaugh said of the Republican National Convention. "We don't riot. We don't burn our cars. We don't burn down our houses. We don't kill our children. We don't do half the things the American left does."
He believes electing Democrats will hurt America's security and economy and appeared to call on his listeners to make sure that doesn't happen.
"We do, hopefully, the right thing for the sake of this country. We're the only one in charge of our affairs. We don't farm out our defense if we elect Democrats ... and riots in Denver, at the Democratic Convention will see to it we don't elect Democrats. And that's the best damn thing that can happen to this country, as far as I can think," Limbaugh said.
Denver will host the DNC on Aug. 25 to Aug. 28.

From: www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_042308/content/01125112.guest.htmlThe Republican party's "weird uncle" says: Riots in Denver at the Democrat convention would see to it we don't elect Democrats -- and that's the best damn thing could happen for this country as far as anything I can think: Don't elect Democrats! Now, I know he's a smart guy and chooses his words carefully, or mixes the words in a way that a lawyer would say well.. he was just daydreaming out loud: Now, I am not inspiring or inciting riots. I'm dreaming. (singing to the tune of White Christmas) "I'm dreaming of riots in Denver.

The people that Limbaugh anticipates to be the source of the riots are not members of his radio audience; they are presumably members of Sharpton's audience. Therefore, Rush Limbaugh is not in a position to "call for" riots and does not posture himself as someone who is in such a position. He explicitly says, "We don't riot!". Given that fact, his commentary strikes me as considerably less inflammatory than an exhortation to pray for the death of Vice President Cheney -- which exhortation, remarkably enough, passed censorial gatekeeping on this forum.

Yeah, that was cowardly of me, wasn't it. OK, I hearby call for an out and out assassination of the bastard. I mean, after all, why shouldn't DC be allowed to start a nuclear war just because he wants to? I mean, it just makes sense to say that Iran shouldn't have nuclear weapons, because they might use them, and then use them ourselves to drive home the point, right? Isn't that what you want for yourself and your children? A radioactive wasteland to live in? Yessir. What was I thinking, wanting God to stop a lunatic from bringing on a nuclear holocost? Bombs away! Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran. And you have a point, even if, by the grace of God, Cheney dies, we still have John McCain wanting his hundred years thousand years war. So Joy to the World! Jesus would be so proud.

Well, if I believed in prayer, I would do likewise.. but my understanding of prayer is asking a supreme being to use his best judgment in deciding on whether or not to answer.. Not in asking our fellow humans to take action in that regard. Comedian Rush Limbaugh is putting the idea out there, trying to plant seeds. He won't succeed, and by the way... it won't happen anyway, regardless of anything he believes the likes of Sharpton will do. Won't happen.. Nope.. At this point, the Democrats could drag someone in off the street and he or she would win.. sorry..

I dislike Cheney and his family for reasons that have nothing whatsoever to do with foreign policy. Nothing whatsoever. But my passion is just as real as yours is, even though the motivation is entirely different. However, I'm stopping short of calling for anyone's death. The only difference is, I'm not ALLOWED to tell you WHY I dislike the Cheneys. If I did, it would be deemed "hateful". Think about that. My non-lethal animus would be deemed more "hateful" than your lethal animus.

He is commenting on someone else's threat to produce riots. It won't happen -- not because it's an a priori impossibility -- but for the simple reason that the Democratic Party establishment is taking steps to assure Obama the nomination. I would have said so a couple of months ago but now it looks as though McCain will inherit the benefit of a hopelessly-divided Democratic Party -- not merely a hopeless-divided Democratic Party but one that has earned the enmity of the Clintons. They will surreptitiously deprive Obama of that which they couldn't have themselves -- for reasons of spite and also in order to ensure themselves of a clear field for 2012. I don't intend to vote for any of the major party candidates myself.

Limbaugh and Sharpton, Democrats and Republicans, Dividers and Conquerers.
Same as it ever was. Nothing new around the star. Same old same old. Meet the new boss...
People think shit like Amway is a pyramid scheme, (and they are damn well right), but then they completely fail to see that the whole fucking mess of civilization is a pyramid scheme. Just look on the back of the dollar...
