Went to see The Fab Five last night, very good tribute band.
I had a front row center seat.

It was well worth the $20 to see'em... very enjoyable.
They were a good tight rock band & pulled off the 1st half perfectly. The 2nd half had the main 4 in their Sgt P uniforms with the 5th guy at the keyboards doing any percussion, singing & playing needed.
I'd say the 1st tribute band I saw several yrs ago pulled off the "illusionary Beatles" era a little better, but The Fab 5 did a good job, especially on A Day In The Life. They did an excellent "rock band" version of this song.... definantly the highlight of the evening. I Am The Walrus wasn't bad either.
These guys didn't produce an exact duplicate of these songs, but rather the live rock band equivalent. They had some interesting ways of resolving some of these songs problems so they could be played live. All in all, I'd say they did a great job & I'd go back in a heartbeat to catch another show.
It was funny overhearing all these old cooters talking about the supposed Beatle lore of their youth. My favorite being"the beatles stopped playing live coz the music got too technical"
And I'm thinkin'.... well no... these guys are fixin' to prove this wrong in a few minutes. There's a Beatle tribute band out there proving that bit of Beatle history to be untrue on a nightly basis.
But this even came with a little PWR joke that probably only I caught. After the 2nd set, "Paul" & "Ringo" never made it off the stage like the other 3 did. When it was time for the encore he said "if John, George, & Billy would get back out here, we'll do a couple more songs" ;D
Fun evening all-round!
