Although periods of inactivity are normal for the sun, this current period has gone on much longer than usual and scientists are starting to worry—at least a little bit. Recently 100 scientists from Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa and North America gathered to discuss the issue at an international solar conference at Montana State University. Today's sun is as inactive as it was two years ago, and solar physicists don’t have a clue as to why.And... Geophysicist Phil Chapman, the first Australian to become an astronaut with NASA, said pictures from the US Solar and Heliospheric Observatory also show that there are currently no spots on the sun. He also noted that the world cooled quickly between January last year and January this year, by about 0.7C.
"This is the fastest temperature change in the instrumental record, and it puts us back to where we were in 1930," Dr Chapman noted in The Australian recently.More: www.dailygalaxy.com/my_weblog/2008/06/the-sunspot-mys.htmlThe sun dials back the wattage and the earth cools.. If the sun were a sentient being, it might be saying "humans, don't flatter yourselves.."

Hmmm, what does that say for the Global Warming problem then?

I dunno, but David Icke always says one thing that apples to a lot of situations, and this is no exception.. Who benefits? Follow the money in the emerging "carbon credits" industry and you will see..

well, I'm all for the carbon credits, part of that has to do with re-ironizing the oceans for NEW life. Can't knock that. ps jo you da man! apples or applies? Oranges or aren't you

Hmmm, what does that say for the Global Warming problem then? It says the Earth is flat, and fairies dance on pinheads, and we humans don't know half of what we think we know. Same as it ever was. -j

Sure, why not? A contentious argument is the medieval warm period, made so by the fact that records from the time are sketchy, and of course thermometers hadn't been invented yet. I guess no one argues that it was warmer in certain places at the time, just that there's not enough proof it was world-wide. The key driver for climate change IMO is the sun.. The worst thing about burning hydrocarbons is the pollution, so yes, it will be a great day when (and if) another way is found to power our energy needs. Now if the govt hadn't confiscated Tesla's papers when he died....

I'm also skeptical that humans have any real effect on the global temperature. It's hard to compete with the Sun. Water vapor controls at least 70% of the greenhouse effect, and that's close to 100% natural. Human contributions to CO2 are about 3% of the total.

Since water vapor was mentioned, I hope it's ok to post this about water vapor in the atmosphere - but this has to do with the analysis of chemtrail spray. This is analysis from a hepa filter after one month taken in Arizona USA. The barium and aluminum count is extremely high - they are both desiccants and evaporate moisture. TURN DOWN VOLUME - THE SOUND IS ONLY OF SOMEONE COUGHING.www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDKzEjJPT-E

If anyone is really interested in the sun spot enigma, here is in interesting website. I'm not sure about the cost of membership now but it is high. I stopped subscribing. He used to have some really good guests on his show. www.earthchangesmedia.com/

I'm not really into the sunspot enigma, but I found this and thought I would pass it along for the thread: Earth Changes Media Newsletter With Mitch Battros April 24, 2008 New Scientific Study Shows Solar Activity Affects Humans Physical and Mental State We are coming into "cycle 24" which was predicted "live" on ECM Radio Hour by NASA stating cycle 24 will be up to 50 percent stronger than "Cycle 23" in which we witnessed the largest solar flare ever recorded. This means larger earth changing events in the way of earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes, and various storms. But it also means we (humans) will be bombarded with charged particles via severe geomagnetic storms from the Sun." (Mitch Battros)www.rumormillnews.com/cgi-bin/forum.cgi?noframes;read=123148
