I have to ask this question, could it have been that the Sgt. Pepper concept could have been tossed around before JPM was replaced/killed (whichever idea you believe)? Now some argue as to the uniformed Paul's that appear in various Sgt Pepper photo shoots, some suspect that Paul was in some of them. Could it be that maybe there were some shots of JPM in a blue uniform, but have not been circulated until after the time of his being replaced? And could it be possible that his image could have been placed with the other band members later on? Some of the songs on the Sgt. Pepper album have been debated as to being Paul's songs and some of Paul's vocals, along with "Bill's" vocals. Perhaps this was the direction the real Beatles wanted to go, but had not been permitted because of their "image" and the system was not ready to change their image quite so soon? As to the total concept and the final package that we call "Sgt. Pepper" may have been polished and completed by June of 1967, but a project of this may have been planned sooner. Does anyone else have an opinion on this matter? OR Will the idea fade into oblivion?

IMO, as I said in the EMI machine thread in the Clues section, that any of the pop and ballad songs attributed to Paul was actually Bill's vocals speeded up on EMI's tape machine. In the fast songs, the rockers, they left Bill's voice as is. Bill's voice is lower and thicker than Paul's.
