I'm battling breast cancer and I'll win, says Marianne

Marianne Faithfull has revealed that she is fighting breast cancer.
The singer and actress who was Mick Jagger's lover in the Sixties has been told by doctors that the disease is in its earliest stages and that her chances of a return to full health are "excellent".
Miss Faithfull, 59, has postponed a world tour which was due to begin next month. She is expected to be treated by the same French experts who put Kylie Minogue on the road to recovery from the same illness.
"I have absolute faith and confidence in my fantastic medical team and of course I will be well again, if not better than ever," said Miss Faithfull, who has homes in Paris and Ireland.
"Next year's tour, I want to assure fans, will be one big celebration."
A year ago, Marsha Hunt, 59, who dated Jagger at around the same time and was the mother of his first child, Karis, also announced she had breast cancer.
Miss Faithfull has for several years lived near the Champs Elysee with her manager and boyfriend, Francois Ravard.
So it was natural that she consulted doctors at the Institute Gustave-Roussy in Paris - one the world's leading cancer centres. They saw Kylie Minogue through almost every stage of her own battle with breast cancer, which was diagnosed in May 2005.
She was given the all-clear this year but returns for periodic checks.
The daughter of a British military officer and an Austro-Hungarian baroness, Marianne Faithfull began her singing career in 1964, after being discovered by Rolling Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham.
Her first hit, As Tears Go By, was written by Jagger and Keith Richards. It was followed up with a series of successful singles, including Come and Stay with Me, This Little Bird and Summer Nights.
She fell for Jagger and left her husband, art dealer John Dunbar, the father of their child Nicholas.
The pair lived in Cheyne Walk in Chelsea together until the end of the sixties and Jagger was said to have boasted so much about his pop-star girlfriend that a resentful John Lennon wrote the Beatles song And Your Bird Can Sing about him.
A drugs bust at Richards's country house, Redlands, in 1967, became part of rock folklore.
Miss Faithfull was allegedly found wearing nothing except a fur rug wrapped around her. Her romance with Jagger, now 63, hit the rocks after she suffered a miscarriage and Jagger had a fling with Anita Pallenberg. Some of the lyrics to the Rolling Stones' song Wild Horses are said to be about their break-up.
In her autobiography, Miss Faithfull admitted she was stoned during most of her relationship with Jagger. She also said she was really in love with Richards. Following her split with Jagger, she spent two years on the streets of Soho while addicted to heroin.
She released an album, Broken English, in 1979, which achieved a cult following. In the 1980s she reinvented herself as a jazz and blues singer with the critically acclaimed Strange Weather, and in the same decade went into rehab.
Recently she has enjoyed a resurgence, and is a close friend of Kate Moss. She recently appeared in Sofia Coppola's film Marie Antoinette and also made guest appearances as God in the TV sitcom Absolutely Fabulous.
In 2004 she was forced to cancel her European tour after collapsing backstage. She was diagnosed with exhaustion and ordered to rest for three months. She is reportedly working on a follow-up to her autobiography.
Christine Fogg, of the charity Breast Cancer Care, said: 'Our thoughts are with Marianne. We wish her well and hope to see her performing again soon.
"Kylie Minogue's experience of the disease significantly helped get the breast awareness message out to more people and we hope Marianne's experience helps reach even more."
